Recently, young archaeologists have presented us with a vivid interpretation of history! The site of their discovery is located in the north 1 of Xiaochengzi Village, Xiaochengzi Township, Nong'an County, Jilin ProvinceThe 5-kilometer Weizili site, which covers an area of about 100,000 square meters, is located on the platform on the south bank of the Songhua River in Xiliu, and carries precious historical information from the Bronze to the Early Iron Age.
In the same year, the Jilin Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and the Changchun Museum jointly launched a series of systematic and in-depth archaeological excavations at the Weizili site. This process is like opening a book of history, giving us a glimpse into the past.
The results of the archaeological excavations are surprising, and the Weizili site dates back to the Bronze Age of the Xia and Shang periods, and even the latest remains date back to the Early Iron Age. It is particularly worth mentioning that in the Xiliu Songhua River Basin, they discovered for the first time the remains belonging to the Late Shang period, which provided an important supplement for the development of Bronze Age archaeological culture in this area.
The remains of each period in Weizili are closely connected with the Bronze Age archaeological culture in the Nenjiang River Basin, the Xiliu Songhua River Basin, and the Dongliao River Basin, revealing new clues for us to understand the Bronze Age cultural exchanges and evolution in Northeast China. This time, history has been given more vitality by young archaeologists, and it has also brought us deeper reflections.
