On the afternoon of February 3, 1946, the city of Tonghua was filled with gunsmoke and only soldiers could be seen cleaning up the corpses on the streets, and in the past few hours, a fierce battle had taken place in the city.

The chief of staff of the Tonghua detachment, Zhufuyi, had just thrown himself into battle, his face was covered with dust and there were still blood stains on his body. The chief of staff did not have time to bandage his wounds, and hurried to the Tonghua Red Cross Hospital with the soldiers, because this is the starting point of **.

The chief of staff pushed open the door to the ward and was shocked by what he saw. A strong smell of blood came to the nostrils, and the corpses of the wounded of our army lay in the ward, the blood on the ground had already coagulated, and some soldiers maintained a posture of resistance before they died.

The chief of staff was furious when he saw this scene, took off his blood-stained military cap, crumpled it with both hands, and then slammed it to the ground"Comrades must be avenged!”

Seeing the time of the incident, many people may ask, on February 3, 1946, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression has ended, and the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party has not yet broken out, why is there such a tragic battle in Tonghua City?

In August 1945, two atomic bombs struck Japan, and Emperor Hirohito, who had originally decided to "shatter 100 million people", began to shake his determination to resist stubbornly under the deterrence of atomic bombs.

At that time, Japan's only card was Northeast China, which was already under Japanese rule as early as 1931, and in the past 14 years, Japan spent a lot of manpower and material resources to build Northeast China, which has become a strong base camp, where 800,000 Kwantung troops are stationed and have sufficient supplies.

However, the Soviet Union had already seen that Japan's defeat was foregone and that the non-aggression pact had long been reduced to a piece of paper, so the Soviet army followed the agreement of the Yalta Conference and gathered forces in early August to launch an attack on the Kwantung Army entrenched in the northeast.

The Soviet army, which had experienced the baptism of the European battlefield, swept away the leaves like an autumn wind in the face of the Kwantung Army, and captured 700,000 Japanese, including soldiers and expatriates, in less than two weeks.

Some of these prisoners of war were transported directly to Siberia and became fuel for the economic construction of the Soviet Union, and part of them were handed over to the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army under the command of **.

Compared with the brutality of the Soviet army, our army has always adhered to the humanitarian spirit and has never mistreated these Japanese prisoners of war. At that time, when our army first arrived in the northeast, there was a shortage of materials, and many soldiers were not well fed and clothed, but they still spared no effort to meet the food and clothing problems of the prisoners of war.

Some of the prisoners of war were repatriated to Japan by our army, but at that time, there was also a lot of chaos in Japan, most of the ships had been sunk in the Pacific War, and there were not enough ships to take them home, so most of the prisoners of war were stranded in Tohoku.

Our army did not have enough food to feed so many prisoners of war at that time, so the cadres proposed that they should simply devote themselves to production activities and feed themselves. This suggestion was eventually adopted, and the prisoners of war were not disgusted by it, and it was much better to be at least free to work than in a prisoner of war camp.

Although these prisoners of war were put into production, our army never oppressed them, not only guaranteeing them three meals a day, but also paying them wages.

There were quite a few women among the prisoners of war, who used to work in the Kwantung Army health system, to put it bluntly, **. Our army took into account that they had experience in working in hospitals, so they arranged for them to take care of the wounded in the hospital, but they did not expect that this decision would directly lead to the tragedy that followed.

Tonghua City is geographically important and was once an important transportation hub of the puppet state of Manchukuo. After the surrender of the Japanese army, the Kuomintang always wanted to take over Tongliao, but at that time, the main forces of the Kuomintang were in the southwest region, and the troops in the northeast were relatively weak. Although the Kuomintang was the legal of China at that time, due to the same ideology, the Soviet army was actually more biased towards the communist army.

After the Soviet army was stationed in Tongliao, the Eighth Route Army Jireliao Military Region sent Jiang Yaquan to take over the puppet provincial office and established the Tonghua City Democratic **, and the Northeast Bureau of the Communist Party of China sent Liu Xiyuan to establish the Tongliao Prefectural Committee, which was actually controlled by our army at that time.

After the establishment of democratic power in Tonghua, our party mobilized the masses to begin to liquidate the landlords and traitors, and launched a struggle to reduce rents and interest rates, which won unanimous praise from the local people.

Sun Gengyao, secretary of the Kuomintang Tonghua Party Department, was weak, but he did not want to accept the fact that the communist regime was gradually consolidating, so a conspiracy came to mind.

The peasant movement organized by our party has harmed the interests of the landlords, the gentry, the old officials of the puppet Manchukuo, the bandits, and other groups, so Sun Gengyao intends to collude with these reactionary forces to overthrow the democratic regime that our party has just established.

But Sun Gengyao was very cunning, he knew that these people were just a rabble, with limited combat effectiveness, and they couldn't make much waves. The real fighting forces were those Japanese troops who had already surrendered.

Minoru Fujita was the commander of the 125th Division of the Kwantung Army, a stubborn officer nationalist who was unwilling to be defeated and always wanted to make a comeback. One has no guns, the other has guns, Sun Gengyao and Fujita coincided, and the two reached a secret agreement on January 15, known as the "Sun Tian Riot Agreement".

The agreement stipulates that the time of ** is February 3, ** starting from the Red Cross Hospital in the city, and the director of the hospital, Captain Shibata Hisashi, will issue a signal of action, and then join forces with the main force outside the city to annihilate the defenders of Tongliao. The old department of the former Kwantung Army served as the main attack, and Sun Gengyao was only responsible for providing **, and then arranging some rabble to assist.

At that time, our party's defenders in Tongliao had only three companies, numbering about 500 people, and the main force had been transferred to the mountainous areas outside Tongliao to suppress bandits. The number of the riot force was about 20,000, and it was composed of revival elements of the Japanese Kwantung Army, Kuomintang agents, reactionary military police, bandits, and private armed men of the gentry.

Fortunately, Shen Diankai, then commander of the guard company of the Logistics Department of the Liaodong Military Region, successfully infiltrated the enemy's interior and learned this information on the evening of 2 February. ** Immediately hold a meeting to discuss countermeasures, and send a telegram to nearby friendly forces, and immediately move closer to Tonghua.

But far water can't quench the thirst of the near, and seeing that there are only a few hours left before the start of the riot, Wu Yunqing, the minister of ordnance, thinks"The enemy is a battle of trapped beasts, ammunition is limited, if we fight with them in the streets, the enemy's superiority in strength will not be able to be brought into play, hold the arsenal, we can wait until reinforcements arrive. ”

So everyone worked together to build a tight fortification in the arsenal overnight, and due to the urgency of the situation, everyone ignored an important place, which eventually led to 153 revolutionary backbones dying for the country.

As the initiator of the action, the director of the hospital, Shibata Hisashi, had long ago blackened the group of white-clothed angels who saved lives and helped the wounded, and they were ready to sacrifice themselves for Japan.

In the early morning of February 3rd, Etsuko Nagayamaguchi convened a meeting of the people and asked each of them to receive a copy of the poison: ".The time has come to be loyal to the emperor, and without any mercy, kill them. ”

After the mobilization meeting, the ** people came to their wards, woke up the sleeping wounded, and told them that it was time to take medicine. Most of these wounded were crawling on the battlefield and were very vigilant. Li Tongren in Ward 5 felt a little strange, there had never been a situation where he got up in the middle of the night to take medicine before, and everyone's condition was different, could they take the same medicine?

"What are you going to do!".Li Tongren scolded loudly, but it was still a step too late, and a young little soldier had already drunk the poison sent by **.

"Recently, there was a plague in the city, and Dean Shibata said to take some medicine to prevent it. ”** Stammered and replied to Li Tongren, but he didn't expect it to be a strong poison, and the little soldier behind him was already foaming at the mouth when he spoke.

Li Tongren immediately realized the seriousness of the problem, and pointed to ** and scolded: ".You white-eyed wolves!I should have killed you in the first place. Before Li Tongren could finish speaking, a sharp scalpel cut through his carotid artery, and blood gushed out.

Afterward, there were a series of terrible screams from the hospital, most of whom were mortally wounded and helpless against a group of women.

The white coats were all dyed red, their eyes revealed a murderous aura, and sharp weapons such as scalpels and scissors were constantly inserted into the bodies of the wounded, and a total of 153 wounded died in their hands.

At the same time, Shibata gave a signal to act, and our army, with the support of the people, resisted the attack of the reactionary forces, and the battle continued until the afternoon, when reinforcements arrived, and the insurrectionary forces were completely annihilated. After the battle, Fujita Minoruhiko, Sun Gengyao and other riot leaders were all arrested, and all the white-clothed demons in the hospital were arrested.

After seeing the tragic situation in the hospital, the Tonghua Municipal Party Committee issued an order that all the people involved were killed. Although these reactionaries were executed in the spitting of the masses, the soldiers in the hospital could no longer wake up, they all threw their heads on the battlefield, spilled their blood, and finally survived the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, but they did not expect to die at the hands of villains in the end.

But the matter was still not completely over, and a small number of the executors of the insurrection took advantage of the chaos to hide in the ranks of the masses and lived incognito from then on. Later, due to the outbreak of the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, these people were temporarily at large.

In 1951, China set off a rebellion movement, and 30 people, including Liu Yitian, Jiang Jilong, and Chi Wenguo, the leaders of the Tonghua riots who had fled to the people, were arrested according to law, and finally all of them were severely punished by the law, and the Tonghua riots came to an end.
