Fast Technology reported on December 24 that recently, Counterpoint Research, a market research agency, released a report on the share of smartphone application processors (APs) in the third quarter of 2023, with MediaTek occupying 33% of the global market share.
According to the report, MediaTek increased its shipments in Q3 2023 in terms of shipments, dominating the smartphone SoC market with a 33% share.
In addition, the launch of low- and mid-range** smartphones has also increased shipments of the MediaTek Dimensity 7000 series.
MediaTek was followed by Qualcomm, which accounted for 28% of the market share in Q3, and Qualcomm's shipments in Q3 also increased sequentially, mainly due to the high shipments of the Snapdragon 695 and Snapdragon 8 Gen2.
In third place is Apple, with an 18% market share.
Qualcomm dominated the market in terms of revenue in terms of revenue in the third quarter of 2023 with a 40% revenue share, mainly due to the adoption of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 by Samsung flagship phones in the high-end market and Chinese manufacturers, driving the brand's growth.
As a result of the launch of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro series, Apple's share increased by 23% quarter-on-quarter, accounting for a 31% share.
MediaTek, the No. 1 company in terms of shipments, ranked third with a 15% revenue share, but its revenue also increased sequentially due to declining inventory levels and continued growth in competitiveness in the entry-level 5G segment.
