On December 20, the eighth day of the lunar calendar, Shiji Town, Ningjin County, was held in Fengji, and the temperature was as low as minus 16 degrees that day. At half past nine o'clock in the morning, the vendors on the large market opened their stalls one after another, and with the sound of gongs and drums, the market began to be lively.
For the people of Shiji Town, the big market at their own door is always more lively than others. Because there is a gong and drum team in the town, as long as they are gathered, they are allowed to perform, and today is no exception.
The leader of the team is called Ma Liansheng, 68 years old this year, from Mazhuang Village, Shiji Town. In addition to him, there were Fan Zhishang, Liu Haiting, Zhang Jiande, Chai Qingyuan, Fu Wensheng, etc., a total of 11 people came that day.
The gong and drum corps comes to perform every day.
Ma Liansheng is a retired teacher, usually likes gongs and drums, and knows several like-minded people, Fan Zhishang of Fanjia Village is one of them. At first, they just like to get together, go to your village today, go to another village tomorrow, find a vacant lot, make some noise, and entertain themselves. Villagers who have the same hobbies or interests in each village are looking for their movements and joining in.
Slowly, the gong and drum corps expanded from a handful of people to more than 20 people, all from more than 10 villages, all over 60 years old. In addition to the performance form of gongs and lions, it also integrates blowing, playing and singing, and also forms a Yangge team with a lineup of 40 people. After taking shape, they began to perform spontaneously in various villages in Shiji Town.

On this day, Ma Liansheng and Fan Zhishang played the lion's head and lion tail respectively, one in front and one behind, one high and one low, accompanied by gongs and drums, doing jumping and itching movements, and behaving vividly. Whether it is the villagers who are about to go home after the purchase, or the passers-by who have just started to catch the market, they can't help but stop for a few seconds. Some people even took out their mobile phones and took pictures and videos.

Drummers, gong players, and cymbals are not fixed, and whoever is free will come. Lion dance has always been me and Lao Fan. Ma Liansheng, who took off his costume, said. Because they are not a fixed team, they randomly change the gongs and drums and Yangge steps according to the local performance habits, and enjoy it. There was movement in the village, and over time, their "fans" also increased.
Last year, with the support and guidance of the town, they moved the "stage" to the big set, and the location was not restricted by the town. The time set every 38, the sesame Li set in Xiangya Town, and the Baodian Town Baodian market are all places they often go to.
There are many onlookers who perform at each set, and the atmosphere is lively and traditional folk customs can be promoted. Ma Liansheng said that sometimes after the performance, some audience members will come over and ask them to go to the next performance. Some people say that the gong and drum team will go to whichever set they go to, and this makes us very encouraged!”
In the entire performance team, the 80-year-old lion dance main fan Zhishang is the oldest. Introduced to lion dance as a teenager, this performance has accompanied him for more than 60 years. Now, in addition to performing at the big set to satisfy his hobbies, Fan Zhishang is also a little "selfish" - looking for an inheritor.

It was because I was worried that this performance would be lost, so I insisted on it until now. Fan Zhishang said. According to his idea, he will perform at various major gatherings, have more opportunities to appear, and among the passers-by who come and go, there may be some people who are interested and want to learn.
As he wished, this year, an 11-year-old child in Xuzhuang Village showed a strong interest in gongs and lion at the Baodian Market. Now, Fan Zhishang goes to teach children every week to teach "unique skills".
At 10 o'clock in the morning, the performance ended, and the gong and drum players rested in place. Acquaintances of the villagers came up to say hello, and the crowd of onlookers gradually dispersed. The "old boys" breathed hot air, and the sun shone on their shoulders, covering them with a "golden coat".
