In the town of Myukhang, Rakhine State, Myanmar, fighting broke out on December 24 and killed three civilians and seriously injured four.
At 4 a.m. on December 24, the Miuma Police Station in Miuhang Township, the Miaobe Village Police Station and the stronghold of the military forces in Mount Dudoma were attacked by AA. The 540th, 337th and 378th battalions of the military stationed in the town of Miuhang carried out an artillery support attack on the city, resulting in the death of one civilian, four serious injuries, including one child, and the death of a large number of livestock.
It is reported that at around 1 o'clock in the afternoon, the military stronghold of Mount Dudom was captured, and the police of the Miaobei village police station surrendered with guns, and the situation of the battle is not yet clear.
It is also reported that the police station of Mauhang Miuma was also captured, but this information needs to be further verified. Exchanges of fire continued as of 24 December until 6 p.m.
A local resident said that at around 4 a.m. on December 24, gunfire was heard from the police station, which stopped at 7 a.m., and the military unit in Muhang continued to shell the city, causing serious injuries to five civilians in the morning, one of whom died after being taken to the hospital. Later, the gunfire began again, and it continued to sound until the evening. At 3 p.m., two more civilians were killed and three others, including a child, were injured.
In Miaohang, some people fled two days before the fighting broke out to hide in relatives in villages outside the town, and after the fighting broke out on December 24, a large number of people began to flee.
