December 25 is Christmas, and most of the people in Myanmar who have fled from Kayah State to the southern parts of Shan State are ** Christians, and this year's Christmas season is difficult because of the fighting, so they can only celebrate Christmas in a simple way.
It is understood that before the outbreak of war in Kayah State, most of the people in Kayah State would hold Christmas during the Christmas period, but this year, during Christmas, they took refuge outside and could not return to their hometowns, so they could only help each other and celebrate Christmas together.
One woman said that although it was Christmas, we were not happy at all, and on Christmas Day, we had to gather together and sing. Then cook a meal for the child to eat, and worship the Buddha at the pagoda with the family, which is the only way for now.
It is understood that in order to allow the refugees who fled the war to have a good Christmas, some people in southern Shan State donated food, rain canopies and other materials to them.
A refugee woman said that on our way back from the pagoda, the locals gave us food such as fried noodles and some blankets. Although we were not happy this Christmas, I was comforted by their heart-warming behavior.
At present, most of the refugees who have taken refuge in the southern parts of Shan State are facing food shortages, inadequate shelter, clothing and blankets, and there are few caring people to help, making life very difficult for refugees.
