Luo Zhongyi (1907-November 28, 1941), whose real name is Luo Zongyu, was a native of Xiangyang, Hubei, and an outstanding anti-Japanese general of the New Fourth Army. He joined Feng Yuxiang's Northwest Army in 1927, then joined the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in December 1931, and became a member of the Chinese Communist Party in 1932. Luo Zhongyi once served as the commander of a military subdivision of the Fujian Military Region, and after the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, he served as the chief of staff of the 2nd Detachment of the New Fourth Army. He fought valiantly and died heroically on November 28, 1941 in a fierce battle against the Japanese invaders in the Tangma area of Liyang County, Jiangsu.
