In 1979, a major event happened in Vietnam, and Hoang Van Huan, executive vice chairman of Vietnam, defected to China.

Huang Wenhuan defected to China to resist Le Duan's anti-China policies, and he was the highest-ranking foreign leader to worship China.

As soon as this incident came out, countries around the world paid attention to it.

Born in 1905, Hoang Van Huan was a proletarian revolutionary of the older generation in Vietnam who had a deep affection for China.

In 1926, Huang Wenhuan came to Guangzhou to study and Xi, and also entered the Whampoa Military Academy. In 1950, Hoang Van Huan came to China again to attend a Xi abroad course, and after graduation, he served as Vietnam's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to China.

On September 2, 1969, after the death of Ho Chi Minh, Le Duan came to power and began to implement a pro-Soviet and anti-Chinese policy. He vigorously promoted his cronies and squeezed out the pro-China backbone during the Ho Chi Minh period, which led to a gradual deterioration in Sino-Vietnamese relations.

In 1975, Vietnam, with the support of the Soviet Union, embarked on a plan to dominate Southeast Asia. While launching aggression against Cambodia, it has also frequently stirred up trouble on the Sino-Vietnamese border and harassed our border people.

Huang Wenhuan believes that at this time, Vietnam has just been reunified, and the only way out for development and revitalization is to build a stable surrounding environment based on its own country.

Therefore, he has become a thorn in the side of the Li Duan group, a thorn in the flesh, and he is not unhappy.

In 1976, the Fourth National Congress of Vietnam was held. By exerting his power, Le Duan expelled Huang Wenhuan from the Politburo and the committee.

Huang Wenhuan's title at this time was Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, a veritable vacant position. In 1979, China's self-defense counterattack against Vietnam was victorious, and the squadron chose to withdraw its troops. The Le Duan clique seized the opportunity to announce the "great victory of Vietnam's defense of the country", and the reason was naturally the withdrawal of the People's Liberation Army.

In order to flaunt this historical event, Le Duan held a celebration meeting. At the opening ceremony, he specified that Huang Wenhuan must participate, with only one purpose, that is, to make Huang Wenhuan's image in the hearts of the Chinese.

However, an unexpected scene emerged. At the opening ceremony, Huang Wenhuan wore a Chinese ** hat and a Chinese yellow military uniform. Huang Wenhuan's move undoubtedly slapped Li Duan hard.

Li Duan's treatment of Huang Wenhuan has shifted from political prejudice to personal hatred.

As for this change in Le Duan, Huang Wenhuan naturally knows it, and he knows that he can no longer stay in Vietnam.

In the summer of 1979, Huang Wenhuan suddenly had a high fever that did not go away, and after examination, it was found that there was a dark spot in his lungs, and the doctor advised him to go to East Germany**, Huang Wenhuan knew that his opportunity to escape had come.

At the beginning of July 1979, Huang Wenhuan began to leave for East Germany. It's just that before that, Li Duan arranged two entourages for him, a doctor and a secretary.

The plane was on the way and needed to stop in Pakistan for a few hours, and Huang Wenhuan knew very well that this was the best time for him to defect to China.

He said to the secretary, "I am very tired and need to recuperate in Karachi for a few days, you go to East Germany first to familiarize yourself with the situation there, and I will arrive later." The secretary naturally didn't want to go, because his task was to monitor Huang Wenhuan, but he couldn't find a reason to refuse, so after communicating with the doctor, he agreed.

After the secretary left, Huang Wenhuan and the doctor who monitored him slept at night, so he quietly climbed out of the window and slipped out of the hotel.

He took a taxi, and due to the language barrier, the driver finally figured out his destination - the Chinese Consulate General in Karachi.

The staff of the Chinese embassy who received him recognized Huang Wenhuan at a glance. After hearing Huang Wenhuan's intention, the staff immediately reported to Beijing and clearly told Huang Yonghuan that we will pick you up at the door of the hotel at 10 o'clock tomorrow night.

At 10 o'clock the next night, after Huang Wenhuan walked out of the hotel, he found that the car of the Chinese Consulate General had been waiting for a long time. The car took Huang Wenhuan directly to the airport.

On July 5, 1979, the Chinese side announced the arrival of Hoang Van Huan, Vice President of the National Assembly of Vietnam, in Beijing.
