Towards the end of 2023, travel information company OAG released its annual list of the world's busiest international routes, with three of the top 10 involving a trip to Singapore. This is in line with the image that Singapore's Changi Airport has given to travellers around the world for many years: busy, comfortable and convenient, with access to almost all major cities in the world.
This figure is purely based on the number of seats sold on each flight in 2023. The world's busiest international route is from Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, selling a whopping 4.9 million seats. With a flight time of just over an hour, this route is popular with commuters who prefer to fly rather than drive.
