We must realize that even if the two sides of the strait are of the same language and species, it is impossible to achieve peaceful reunification.
In the past two days, people in Taiwan's education circles have called for the abolition of the "de-sinicization syllabus", which has become more popular on the Internet, and one of the statements made by a teacher surnamed Ou on classical Chinese is even more sobering and thought-provoking.
This "de-sinicization" syllabus is the so-called "108 syllabus" in Taiwan. In 2019, the authorities completely erased Chinese history from its history textbooks and replaced it with "East Asian history".
This "syllabus", "de-sinicization" of history education is one of the core projects of "**", from the syllabus, textbooks to teaching three aspects at the same time. Since the beginning of the "88 syllabus" of the era, the Taiwan region has set up a separate chapter, and the "98 syllabus" stipulates that "China is a foreign country" and is not allowed to use such words as ancient and modern China and foreign countries, and the famous "ancient and modern Taiwan and foreign countries" comes from here.
By the time Tsai Ing-wen's "108 syllabus" intensified, not talking about the War of Resistance and not about recovery, the Mid-Autumn Festival is said to have also become the "Taiwan Autumn Festival", and the result is that the data obtained in June this year is nearly 933% of Taiwanese no longer identify with Chinese mainland and only recognize themselves as "Taiwanese", which sounds like the situation is very grim, and if this situation is left unchecked, there will be no possibility of the Taiwan region returning.
Of course, the situation is serious, but we must understand two points, on the one hand, even if countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada are all English-speaking countries, they are also of the same language and species, and they can never be pinched into one country. There is a entanglement of interests between the British royal family and Wall Street bigwigs.
In other words, as long as we do not put the position of the motherland's reunification in a correct position and simply fantasize about changing the "banner" to achieve that kind of reunification, even if we are of the same language and of the same species, it will not be possible to finally achieve reunification in the true sense.
On the other hand, we must realize that the reunification of the motherland is a war of liberation in the new era, and it is a continuation of the struggle to overthrow imperialism that began with the Chinese nation more than 100 years ago in 1919. In 1949, less than 4 percent of the intellectuals in the Kuomintang identified with the Communist Party, and less than a year after the destruction of our People's Liberation Army swept south of the Yangtze River, we all know what happened.
In other words, if we do not use force to achieve a change of the current "political power" on the island, even if it is reunified, there will still be endless troubles in the future.
