Thumbs up. Looking.

In everyday life, we often hear it.

The baby is blessed to be white and fat!”

The child eats fat and has strong resistance!”

Is that so?Not really!

Children's growth and development need comprehensive nutrition, children are indeed very cute, but if you blindly let children eat, eat, eat, eat, will exacerbate the child's overweight, resulting in overweight, obesity, and then huge health risks.

What is childhood obesity?

There are three types of childhood obesity: mild, moderate, and severe obesity.

1.Mild obesity:Refers to a child weighing more than 20% to 30% of the ideal body weight.

2.Moderate obesity:Refers to a child weighing more than 30% of his or her ideal weight.

3.Severe obesity:Refers to a child weighing more than 40% of the ideal body weight.

Diagnostic criteria:Body mass index (BMI) for age: weight (kg) length squared ( ).

When a child's BMI is at P85 P95 is overweight, and more than P95 is obese.

Causes of childhood obesity:

1.Eating too many calories

Excessive intake of fast food, puffed food, fried food, barbecued food, sugary drinks, snacks, unbalanced diet, excessive fat intake, etc., can lead to childhood obesity.

2.Too little exercise

Electronic devices (sedentary computers, mobile phones, game consoles, watching TV), and lack of exercise can also contribute to childhood obesity.

3.Genetic factors

Both parents are obese, and the chance of children being obese is 80%.

If one parent is obese, the chance of the child being obese is 40%.

4.Other factors

Environmental factors, abnormal endocrine regulation, drugs, intestinal flora, psychiatric factors, etc.

The dangers of obesity to children:

Childhood obesity not only affects a child's growth and mental health, but also causes damage to multiple systems of the body.

1.Increased risk of chronic disease:

The first "Report on Childhood Obesity in China" proposed:

The risk of developing hypertension in obese children is 3 percent of that of normal-weight children9 times;

The risk of developing high triglycerides in obese children is 2 percent higher than in normal-weight children6 times;

The risk of developing diabetes in adulthood in obese children is 2 percent higher than that of normal-weight children7 times;

People who are persistently obese from childhood to adulthood have a higher risk of developing metabolic syndrome, which is 9 percent higher than those who are persistently normal weight5 times.

2.Induced precocious puberty:

The accumulation of excess fat in obese children can promote an increase in estrogen levels, which can induce early puberty in children, thereby inducing precocious puberty.

3.Psychological problems arise:

Low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, discrimination, polycystic ovary syndrome, etc.

4.Organ stress:

Fatty liver, asthma, sleep-disordered breathing, bone and joint problems, etc.

How parents can cope:

1.Nutritional matching, balanced diet:

Reduce calorie intake and establish healthy eating habits. Try to stay away from high-calorie foods such as fast food, puffed food, fried food, barbecue food, sugary drinks, etc.

2.Reasonable exercise:

Strengthen the amount of daily physical exercise and do more aerobic exercise to help the body metabolize and enhance the body's resistance.

3.Improves sleep:

Go to bed early and wake up early to develop a healthy sleep routine.

Finally, if your child meets the standard of obesity, parents must be vigilant, in addition to improving diet and reasonable exercise, they should also take their child to the hospital for evaluation in time, and take corresponding measures according to the test results. Help you detect early, intervene early, and don't let obesity affect your child's life!
