As an active part of BWI's sustainability strategy, BWI's Zhangjiakou manufacturing site, which is the largest in the region, will take the lead in reducing carbon emissions by leveraging the abundance of green energy in the region and ensuring that 100% renewable energy will be used by 2027.
The Zhangjiakou production base has been optimized for intelligent assembly and green building standards from blueprint to construction process, and is equipped with various energy-saving and environmental protection facilities, such as rooftop photovoltaic power generation, solar water heating system and LED energy-saving lamps in the workshop. It is expected that when the plant is fully completed, the entire rooftop photovoltaic area will reach 22,000 square meters. The total installed capacity is about 2 MW,Nearly 2 million kWh of green electricity will be generated every year, and rooftop PV alone will directly reduce CO2 emissions by about 1,200 tons per year.
As early as 2019, the Fangshan production base of Jingxi Group completed a 1,500 kV rooftop photovoltaic power generation project, with an average green power generation of about 1,200 MWh, and a total power generation of 4,150 MWh, which is expected to be reduced by about 180,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions have greatly accelerated the sustainable development of the group.
