The Google Pixel Fold will soon let you take photos with two screens at the same time

Despite being Google's first foldable device, Pixel Folding is actually a promising device, and while it may not be the latest and greatest in terms of specs, it does have something that several other foldable phones lackā€”and that is Google's support for its Pixel devices. Now, we've learned that foldables may get a dual-screen mode that lets you use two displays at the same time while taking photos, a feature we've seen on many foldable phones in the past.

The Google Pixel Fold already has a dual-screen feature called interpreter mode, which will be very neat if you really have a chance to use it, but it seems that the company wants to expand on it, being able to use two displays when taking photos. This information was obtained after doing an apk teardown of the latest Pixel Camera version.

In Pixel Camera v92, there are strings that indicate new features coming to Pixel Fold. The feature is currently called Saturn, but I believe this won't be the final name, as Google has a Xi of changing these.

Looking at the new strings, it's clear that these will allow Pixel Fold users to use two screens to show a preview of the subject, while photographers shoot with the main display**. This feature has been opened in the recently launched OnePlus and Galaxy Z Fold 5, and it will now make its way to the latest Pixel foldable devices.

It's also worth noting that there are measures in place to ensure that the entire process goes as smoothly as possible. For example, when you use your Pixel Fold with battery saver mode turned on, the dual-screen feature won't work. If your phone is running too hot, it won't work; This is not surprising, as every company needs to make sure that their devices don't crash due to temperature issues.

Honestly, for that matter, I'd really like to get a Pixel Fold or any other foldable device. However, considering the lifestyle, I don't think a foldable phone is a good choice for me. I'm glad that Google is actively adding features to make it more feasible for foldability, rather than abandoning it altogether. It's worth noting that at the moment, the feature doesn't work, but we'll keep you posted as soon as it's available and working.
