Recently, Porsche unveiled the interior and exterior of the Macanev. The Macan is an urban SUV successfully developed by Porsche. Positioned below Cayenne, it was a great success after going public. It is currently second in Porsche's global sales after the Cayenne, which ranks first. In other words, this is an important model in Porsche's sales lineup.
The most important feature of the Macanev is that it has evolved from a lineup of internal combustion engine vehicles to a lineup of pure electric vehicles based on the Volkswagen Group's next-generation electric vehicle platform "PPE (Premium Platform Electric)".
First of all, the exterior design has been changed from a conventional SUV to a coupe SUV. It is characterized by a body line that slides backwards from the B-pillar. The situation with the headlights is similar to that of the Taycan. Due to the composite headlight type, it is expected that the top of the light will function as a daytime running light (DRL) and a turn indicator, and the bottom will function as a headlight.
The interior follows Porsche's latest design layout. It features digital technologies such as three display screens and an augmented reality head-mounted display (HUD).
Judging by the 3 displays, the driver's seat is equipped with 12The 6-inch screen, the same as the Taycan's, is equipped with a "curved display", which is gorgeous.
The center display that can operate the entire infotainment system is 109 inches, the co-pilot screen is 109 inches. Passengers can use the display to confirm the navigation path or enjoy the **flow**, etc.
The existing PCM (Porsche Communication Management) infotainment system is also changing. As announced in November, through a partnership with Google, it will be based on Android.
This allows drivers to use a variety of programs such as Spotify, YouTube, WebX, and more in the Porsche Application Center, as well as display Apple Maps or Google Maps on the digital dashboard.

For the first time in Porsche's sales lineup, the Augmented Reality (AR) display system for the Macan EV will make the front windshield the fourth display. It measures up to 87 inches and displays navigation paths and distance to the vehicle in front through augmented reality. Porsche explains: "This is the largest size of the HUD at the moment. ”
Since the new car is a pure electric vehicle, it is important to pay attention to the battery and the range on a single charge on the Macan EV. The Macan EV is equipped with a 100kWh lithium-ion battery pack that ensures a driving range of 500 km (European WLTP standard) on a single charge. Compared to the Taycan, which stays at a distance of around 400 km, it is a considerable improvement.
The PPE platform is equipped with an 800V high-voltage charging system that can quickly charge up to 270kW. Under optimal conditions, assuming an optimal temperature of 23°C, the Macan EV can be charged by 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes. It will also be equipped with air suspension and rear-wheel steering to improve driving performance.
The Porsche Macan EV will be available in early 2024. The launch of the Makan EV was originally planned for the end of this year, but the launch was delayed due to difficulties in software development.
