Boat boats. On the morning of December 13, three copper ships the size of real ships were unveiled in Linping, Hangzhou. They are about to go north to Beijing, as a work of exchange between Beijing and Hangzhou to jointly protect and inherit the culture of the Grand Canal, and "sail" to the Grand Canal Museum in Beijing.
These three bronze boats are the "high-end customization" of the Grand Canal Museum in Beijing, led by Zhu Bingren, a master of Chinese arts and crafts and a representative inheritor of national intangible cultural heritage bronze carving skills.
The Grand Canal is a treasure of the Chinese nation and the common lifeblood of Beijing and Hangzhou. Zhu Bingren introduced, "The unveiling of three copper ships in Hangzhou and the departure of 'entering Beijing' not only shows the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Grand Canal, so that everyone can experience the culture of the Grand Canal up close, but also reflects the joint efforts of Beijing and Hangzhou to build a new bridge with a continuous cultural context and sail towards a new direction for the future." ”
The structure and configuration of these three bronze ships were taken from Song Yingxing's "Heavenly Creations" in the Ming Dynasty, the Ming Dynasty's coastal defense masterpiece "Preparing for the Sea Atlas" and the "Luhe Supervision and Transportation Map" collected by the National Museum, and were restored and guided by Liao Junling, vice chairman of the China Ship History Research Association.
They don't have the same function and different design styles. The longest of these is the 19-meter-long vessel that can sail on the steep bottom of the deep sea. The second is the Cao Boat Boat, the length of the ship is 15 meters, it is reported that the Cao Boat Boat can carry thousands of stone grain, and also carries passengers, which is more gorgeous. The shortest is a barge, which is also 12 meters long.
Shelter ships. Zhu Junmin, a master of arts and crafts in Zhejiang Province and the son of Zhu Bingren, introduced, "For thousands of years, the Cao Yun ship has been the material link between the north and the south of the Grand Canal, and has promoted the economic, social and cultural exchanges between the north and the south of China. Each bronze ship is made of classic bronze color, restored from the structure, scale, equipment and other details, reproducing the magnificent style of the Cao transport ship in the classic ancient books. ”
How did Zhu Bingren get involved with the Grand Canal? In 2005, Zhu Bingren, together with Zheng Xiaoxie, an urban planning expert in his 90s, and Luo Zhewen, an antiquities expert in his 80s, jointly wrote a letter to the mayors of 18 cities on the Grand Canal, "Letter on Accelerating the Protection of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Heritage and the "World Heritage Application". It is this "World Heritage Letter" that opened the curtain of China's acceleration of the "World Heritage Application" to protect the Grand Canal, and the three old people are also known as the "Three Elders of the Canal".
Shipping barges. It is reported that the three bronze boats unveiled this time are not the first bronze sculpture artwork of the Grand Canal designed by Zhu Bingren. As early as 2007, Zhu Bingren was invited to create a huge bronze mural - "The Thousand Autumns of the Universiade", in which the dragon boat and the Caoyun fleet centered on Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty are lifelike, and now stand in Dongguan Gudu in the Yangzhou section of the canal.
The Millennium Grand Canal connects the north and the south, runs through ancient and modern times, and is also a cultural link. Zhu Bingren said, "As a craftsman and inheritor, the feelings for cultural heritage are engraved in the bones, and how to leave our own culture to the Grand Canal, to history, and to future generations is the original intention and mission that we have been trying to practice." ”
