Saudi Arabia is an important country in the Middle East, and its diplomatic activities have been very frequent recently. Within a month, the United States sent two senior White House leaders to visit Saudi Arabia in an attempt to woo Saudi Arabia from the United States. However, the Saudis did not completely submit to the wishes of the United States, but at the same time maintained close ties with China and Russia. This has created an interesting "diplomatic game", in which the United States has not played very well, while China and Russia have shown a good tacit understanding.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was the first representative sent by the United States, and his visit did not go well. He hopes that Saudi Arabia will strengthen cooperation with the United States, especially on the issue of confronting China and Russia. He also hinted that Saudi Arabia should establish relations with Israel so that the United States has more allies in the Middle East. Although he did not directly ask Saudi Arabia to take sides between China and the United States, he clearly expressed the view that the United States is the best partner for Middle Eastern countries.
Blinken's words sound polite, but his ambition is clear. His aim is to do three things: repair U.S.-Saudi relations, promote Israel-Saudi cooperation, and stop the development of China and Russia in the Middle East. He is very dissatisfied with the current situation in the Middle East, and he wants to use the great power of the United States to change the pattern of the Middle East region.
However, what Blinken didn't realize was that much had changed in the Middle East. His statement that "the United States is the best partner of the Middle East countries" is no longer in line with the facts. The United States can imagine for itself, but the reality is that the cooperative relationship between China and Saudi Arabia is constantly strengthening, and Saudi Arabia has a lot of confidence in it.
The cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia has been questioned by the United States and the West. For some time, the relationship between China and Saudi Arabia has been very close, and many Westerners have suspected China's motives and believe that China has bad intentions. However, the Saudi energy minister responded to this, directly ignoring the rumors in the United States and the West, saying that Saudi Arabia would go where it would look for opportunities.
This shows that Saudi Arabia will not obey the command of the United States, but will act according to its own interests. Saudi Arabia will not take sides, and Saudi Arabia's cooperation with China will not be interfered with by the United States and the West.
It is worth mentioning that Chinese investors also came to Saudi Arabia, and after Blinken's visit. And when Putin hit the Saudi crown prince, it was when Blinken wanted to woo Saudi Arabia, which added some tension. Blinken hoped that Saudi Arabia would increase oil production, but Putin agreed with the Saudi crown prince to reduce oil production.
In this way, Saudi Arabia reached an agreement with Russia, deepened cooperation with China, and finally disappointed the United States. In this "diplomatic game," the United States obviously did not gain any benefits, but on the contrary, it was still at a disadvantage.
