Recently, the well-known scholar and senior ** Long Jiangang's new book "Awakening Dragon Words" was published by the Southern ** Publishing House, which is Long Jiangang's second monograph written in Foshan, and most of the articles included are comments published on the Southern ** and the manuscript broadcast of the ** "Awakening World Dragon Words", involving many aspects of economic and social development and many key areas and hot events. Wang Zhigang, a well-known strategic consulting expert, enthusiastically wrote a preface to "Awakening Dragon Words" and highly recommended it.

In the spring of 2017, after the publication of Long Jiangang's first Foshan book "Finishing Touches: Foshan Observations in Transition China", the market response was good, and many ** also published reports and comments. Yang Xingfeng, the former president of the Southern ** Society, spoke highly of it and believed that this was "a pioneering move in the writing of party newspaper reviews"; Lu Xinning, then deputy editor-in-chief of the People's **, said: "Like Long Jiangang, from the perspective of a news person, in the way of news commentary, in-depth study of a place, insight into the general trend from a global perspective, to achieve such depth, to achieve such results, is rare in the country, even our "People's **" reporters, it is difficult to do." ”

Long Jiangang said that in an era when everyone has a microphone, voices with thoughts, opinions and positive energy are indispensable resources. "There are a lot of people who make ** reviews at the moment, and many people are spreading knowledge, and I want to spread knowledge more. Knowledge is passive wisdom, insight is the wisdom of active refinement, and insight must be based on knowledge, otherwise it will only stay at the level of looking at the appearance and watching the excitement. Knowledge must be combined with insight in order to be sublimated into wisdom. ”

In the past 25 years since he came to Foshan from Guizhou, Long Jiangang has taken the study and dissemination of Foshan as his own responsibility, and has written a large number of influential articles. His goal is to try to get people to get the news with a point of view, and to see the direction of the trend while seeing the waves.

Speaking of Long Jiangang.

Wang Zhigang. Who is Long Jiangang?

If you want to answer this question clearly, you must first understand, what is Foshan?

As a well-known manufacturing city at home and abroad, Foshan can be described in one sentence: it is the dojo of the market economy and the ocean of grassroots economy.

Among the 20 cities with the strongest economy in China, Foshan has two very prominent characteristics: one is the largest proportion of manufacturing industry, and the other is the highest contribution rate of the private economy. It can be said that Foshan is a city with the private economy as the main body, and it is also a rare city in Chinese history that is born from the commodity economy and market, and the urban development history of Foshan is also the most complete history of private economic development in China.

As China's economic development enters a new normal, many Chinese and foreign scholars pay close attention to Foshan and study Foshan, as a pioneer city in China to break through the middle-income trap.

It is true that Foshan's culture is also not thin. From a global perspective, Foshan has contracted almost all of Lingnan's world-class cultural business cards, and the crystallization of folk culture such as martial arts, dragon boats, lion dancing, and food is world-renowned. Standing in the Bay Area, the core of the culture of the Bay Area is in Guangzhou-Foshan, the Bay Area has the same root, Guangzhou-Foshan has the same origin, and the root is in Foshan, to a certain extent, Foshan is the mother of culture in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. However, compared with the highly developed commercial civilization, Foshan's cultural color is inevitably much inferior. So much so that there is a saying in the rivers and lakes: "In Foshan, it's best not to talk about culture." Although this sentence is extreme, it also shows from another side that the tradition of business, business, and respect for business formed for thousands of years is the real soul of Foshan.

As an advocate, participant and observer of the private economy, I am also very interested in Foshan. According to my observation, Foshan has the following distinct differences from other cities:

Breaking the traditional occupational status order of "Shinong Industry and Commerce", the social status of businessmen has risen, and even "the four people are not distinguished". In this land, wealth creators are far more respected than in other regions. Whether it is the height of the temple or the distance of the rivers and lakes, the great power of the market has been fully demonstrated.

Foshan entrepreneurs are reluctant to leave Foshan even if they become bigger. Businessmen from other places move to the county seat with a little money, move to the provincial capital if they have a little money, and move to the capital when they make a fortune, but most of the enterprises in Foshan are determined to take root in Foshan. A small Beijiao town has stepped out of the two Fortune 500 companies of Country Garden and Midea. What is even more commendable is that after the two companies became bigger, they did not "follow the routine" to run north, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, but chose to stay in Foshan and eventually grow into towering trees. The explanation of this problem, there are different opinions, in my opinion it is actually very simple - Foshan's customs, social atmosphere, and regional culture have finally formed an ecology that is extremely suitable for the survival of entrepreneurs.

In the face of the endless talk of cultural people, most of the people in Foshan will offer a sentence of "saliva is more than tea", and if it is even more difficult to hear, they will mumble a sentence of "surface-to-air missiles". In the final analysis, it is this group of cultural people who speak in space. Foshan people who grit their teeth and work hard to make money have never looked at this kind of "emptiness".

In such a vast sea of market economy, countless literati have been feathered, but there is only one exception, he not only took root in Foshan, but even formed a strong social influence, whether it is officialdom, the market, or even the market, he has great respect for him. From the earliest TV station to newspaper articles, and then to the short **, with the development of Foshan in the past ten years, he has never been absent. So much so that in Foshan, "professor" has become his exclusive term. In the cognition of the boss group whose general knowledge level is not very high, the "professor" is the ceiling of cultural people, and it also represents the highest respect for intellectuals.

Long Jiangang is so famous in Foshan that when he goes to the vegetable market to buy vegetables, he is often recognized, whether it is a grandfather who sells fish or a grandmother who sells meat, the first thing he said when he saw him: "Eh, the saliva guy is here!" The second sentence: "Your ** show last night was so exciting!" The third "snap" cut the meat down and threw it to Long Jiangang, and he resolutely didn't want money, which made Professor Long run away, and he didn't dare to go to the street to buy vegetables.

As for those who are in charge of the government, they will quietly send him a WeChat message to talk about their heartfelt thanks and recognition for a comment or article on him, and even some high-level ** will quietly transfer their articles to him, hoping that he can help promote it. Liu Yuelun, who once served as the secretary of the Foshan Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, once said: "During my work in Foshan, I read almost every article published by Long Jiangang, and even after leaving Foshan, I still maintain this attention." ......But any article signed 'Long Jiangang', I basically have to read it. ”

During my stay in Guangdong, I also went to Foshan from time to time to investigate, and whenever I talked about Long Jiangang, the bosses would always say, "Is that the professor?" Then he graciously invited the professor to drink and talk together. What's even more exciting is that many bosses don't even know what Long Jiangang's name is, only that the famous "professor" on the rivers and lakes is here.

How did such a maverick cultural person come to be? I think I am afraid that it is inseparable from Long Jiangang's three characteristics:

First, Long Jiangang is a passionate person, and his enthusiasm can always infect everyone. In the huge venue, as long as he is invited to be the host, it will not take long for the atmosphere in the venue to become brisk under the backdrop of his witty words.

Long Jiangang's passion comes from his heart, like a clear water hibiscus, without carving. Over the years, Long Jiangang has been a poet, a reporter, a teacher, a ** person, and has also worked in an agency, but in his bones, he is still a literary and artistic young man who has turned his life into poetry.

When he was young, Long Jiangang used to love Sanmao fanatically, and now he is a person of "Ben Liu", he will still make a special trip to the Sahara Desert and linger for a long time in front of Sanmao's former residence, relying on his youth. Sometimes we ate with him, and when the feast arose, he would still recite poetry aloud. My favorite thing to hear him recite is the song "South and North": "It is my yearning to wander in the wind of the south." The north that raised me became a place of love. When the love is strong, he will still have tears in his eyes, and in the tears, he is still the young man with long hair and flying spirits. Such a Long Jiangang, how can people not like it?

Second, as a scholar, Long Jiangang has a very deep foundation. He's one of the most well-read people I've ever met, and he's so much of a book, and he's been extremely diligent and has been working hard for years. Many years ago, he worked as a special commentator on Foshan TV Station, and the "Finishing Touch" program he did had a large audience and great influence. After the rise of short **, he became an instant hit, and "Awakening Dragon Words" became Foshan's "super IP", and many ** have had an important impact.

Unlike many scholars, Long Jiangang's knowledge is very "practical". As the saying goes, ten years to become a talent, ten years to cultivate a river and lake. Long Jiangang never sat in the study and talked about the truth, but went deep into the workshop, conducted research on the front line, or had in-depth exchanges with entrepreneurs to understand the voices of entrepreneurs. Over the years, Long Jiangang has spent almost half of his time in Foshan and half of his time in other places, and he has accompanied entrepreneurs and leading delegations to visit and exchange at home and abroad. Therefore, he can jump out of Foshan to see Foshan, and observe Foshan from the perspective of China and even the world. This also makes his articles more down-to-earth, has a deeper understanding of Foshan, and has a more accurate grasp, and can also get enthusiastic responses and wide resonance from all walks of life.

The third characteristic of Long Jiangang, and I think the most valuable, is his sense of justice and conscience as an intellectual.

Shouldering morality with iron shoulders and writing articles with skillful hands", this was the expectation of many scholars for themselves. But he had no choice but to spend time with the world, gradually sinking, or under the lock of fame and fortune, he survived. But in Long Jiangang, this intellectual righteousness has never subsided.

There is one thing that strikes me. He had campaigned up and down to rescue an accomplished and influential entrepreneur. While trying his best to reflect the situation, he also traveled thousands of miles away to comfort the entrepreneur's eighty-year-old father. Because the old man lived deep in the mountainous area of eastern Sichuan and his education level was not high, he did not know the outside world, nor did he know how to use legal means, let alone listen to too much persuasion, and only wanted to pray for the "ghosts and gods" to bless his son with safety. In desperation, Long Jiangang had no choice but to invite a famous Miao wizard from his hometown of Songtao to do the work, and he even personally put on a mask and danced a dance that was not very skillful to soothe the old man's heart. In the future, the entrepreneur chatted with me about Long Jiangang's chivalrous courage, and tears couldn't help but roll down and moved. I finally understood why the world has changed and the vicissitudes of life, but Long Jiangang has always been able to stand up.

Over the years, I have rarely agreed to be prefaced, but when Long Jiangang invited me, I agreed without hesitation. Because, as a native of Guizhou, I have been friends with Long Jiangang for decades, poetry and wine singing, I don't know how many, I heard that his new book is Fu Zi, I have relatives at the same time, but also sincerely proud of his achievements. More importantly, because, like me, he, has embarked on a path of "third survival" as an intellectual.

In thousands of years of traditional society, most intellectuals could not get rid of the fate of being dependent on others. And when, overnight, after the reform and opening up opened the southern gate of China, as a member of the intellectuals, I asked countless times: In this era of change and bizarreness, is there any room for free thought, independent spirit, and objective standpoint? Is there a way for intellectuals to survive without being dependent on officials or businessmen? In the midst of great changes, how much can a person who is famous in the world by virtue of his ideas contribute to society and the country? How far can a person go when he or she enjoys spiritual openness and freedom?

Writing history with thought, changing the world with wisdom, and gaining respect with self-esteem are my expectations for myself, and it is also Long Jiangang's practice for so many years. The twilight is far away, the road ahead is long, and Long Jiangang and I can be described as fellow people.

At this point, I am reminded of a story that Long Jiangang often tells: a few decades ago, a rural child born and raised in Huolian Village, Songtao County, Guizhou Province, was deeply shocked by a red slogan "Standing in Huolian Village, Looking at the World from a Distance". As a young man, he sat on the branch of the highest part of the mountain from time to time, looking at the direction of Tiananmen Square in Beijing, thinking about the grandeur of heaven and earth and the wonder of the world. Now, decades later, the former child has been frosted on his sideburns. I don't know how much emotion he can have when he looks back on the road when he travels all over the world and sees the ** lake?
