Chao News client correspondent Liu Lu Cheng Zhenwei reporter Qiu Yina.
In the 30th CSP (Certified Software Professional) certification held earlier this year, Gao Yixiong from Hangzhou Dianzi University scored 500 points, the only perfect score in the audience.
CSP is a software competency certification organized by CCF, which is also known as the China Computer Federation. The probability of getting a perfect score is extremely low. The reporter learned that about 5,000 people participated in the thirtieth CSP certification, and Gao Yixiong got the only perfect score in the audience, once again showing the strength of the "ACM gold medal player" in the algorithm.
ICPC CCPC Gold Award "Get soft".
Gao Yixiong was first "out of the circle" in the ACM International College Student Programming Competition.
We all know in the competition circle that Hangzhou Electric's competition has always been very strong. When I was in high school, I came into contact with Chen Songyang, a well-known national contestant in the Hangzhou Electric Algorithm Contest (now working at Huawei). Senior Chen introduced me to Ms. Liu Chunying, and after talking with Ms. Liu, I firmly decided to continue to take the road of algorithms, and chose to come to Hangzhou Dianzi University, a school with a deep history of algorithm competitions and outstanding results. Gao Yixiong said.
In Hangzhou Electric, the algorithm master of the ACM training team "won the gold medal in the freshman year", which is the basic operation. Under the careful guidance of Coach Liu Chunying, Gao Yixiong's team won the gold medal in the ICPC Jinan Regional Competition in the first semester of their freshman year. However, over the course of more than a year, Ko hit his own bottleneck – four consecutive XCPC competitions were silver medals. Although "quite devastated", after adjusting his training, Gao Yixiong won four consecutive gold medals in the XCPC competition and the runner-up in the Zhejiang competition next season. "The ACM Gold Award was soft", which made many netizens envious.
Algorithms are the most beautiful."
In Gao's eyes, algorithms are full of charm. Currently, Ko is a visiting research student at the City University of Hong Kong as a fourth-year student. "The problems of algorithm design research are often abstract from life. One of the topics I am currently working on is related to the distribution of property, for example, if some social resources need to be distributed to some people, how to distribute them fairly? In addition, algorithms need to perform a lot of calculations when making decisions, and the purpose of algorithms is to optimize the calculation process, or to optimize the process of finding solutions. Being able to solve problems faster and consume fewer resources through algorithmic design is very meaningful and my personal favorite point. ”
In fact, "discovering the beauty of algorithms", Gao Yixiong experienced a "leveling" in Hangzhou Electric. After Gao Yixiong came to Hangzhou Electric Company, he was selected to enter the College of Excellence (Honor College). The training of the College of Excellence emphasizes the "mentorship system". Gao Yixiong said that at first, he thought that machine science Xi Xi deep learning was an interesting direction, and he chose a mentor to do this direction at that time, and after two years of scientific research practice, he also did some experiments and read some **, but he felt that this direction was not very suitable.
The teacher who taught me probability theory was Mr. Zhang An from the Faculty of Science, and I learned that he happened to be doing theoretical computer science, and I signed up for his research-based course in my sophomore year, which was a seminar-type course, and the direction he was talking about at that time was called approximate algorithm, and I was very interested, and after discussing with my supervisor, they also supported me to do what I wanted to do. ”
Later, Gao Yixiong conducted more research in the direction of theoretical computers, "I went to learn Xi as a teacher in the direction of theoretical computer in Hangzhou Electric, including participating in some of their best discussions, and Xi learned a lot." Later, I also took two graduate courses of Mei Lili of the School of Cyber Security, which is also a unique training model of the School of Excellence, allowing undergraduates to take graduate courses, and I took two courses of Mei Lili's computational theory and game theory, which have a lot to do with my current research direction. ”
Algorithms knock on the door of opportunity.
It is a good choice to enter a famous company and enter a famous school for further study, and Gao Yixiong chose the latter.
I have always been very grateful to Ms. Liu Chunying, who not only gave me training in algorithm competitions, but also helped me to be a role model in terms of personality, and also helped me to match me in terms of future development. Gao Yixiong said that the knowledge examined by the ACM algorithm competition is very close to the direction he intends to study for a doctorate, and his doctoral research direction has been determined to be algorithm design. In the Asian ICPC finals in Shanghai in March this year, the current mentor from the City University of Hong Kong also happened to lead the team as a coach. "I have known my current supervisor before, read some of his **, and am very interested in his research direction. Later, under the recommendation of teacher Liu Chunying, we chatted face-to-face. After some contact, my supervisor welcomed me to visit Hong Kong and even study for a PhD, and I got this rare opportunity, and Mr. Liu was my guide. ”
Not long ago, Gao Yixiong received the "CCF Outstanding College Student Award" from the China Computer Federation (CCF), which is awarded to about 100 outstanding computer science students across the country every year. "Because of my love, from the algorithm competition to the current algorithm design research, it is very fulfilling and comfortable, and self-discipline has brought me a lot of freedom. Gao Yixiong told reporters.
