The meati sticks it to the big meat along with the mushroom steak and steak;
As more and more people seek more sustainable consumption, innovators and other startups are finding mushrooms very versatile. For example, mushroom-based packaging substrates can be sustainably grown and harvested, biodegradable, compostable, and a durable alternative to expanded polystyrene. But plastic pollution is not the only existential crisis in which mushrooms come into play. Some companies, such as Meati Foods, are turning mushrooms into a more climate-friendly alternative to meat, even steaks.
Founded in 2017, Meati Foods currently operates a "ranch" in Colorado that utilizes spores to grow fungi in highly controlled and fine-tuned conditions in a cleanroom environment, without the use of pesticides, antibiotics, or growth hormones. Meati's mushroom steak and schnitzel have also won the hearts of restaurateurs and chefs D**id Chang and Tom Colicchio, investors and advisors.
Visually, the brand of Meati is casual, warm, and friendly. The typography of the text tag has a wide circular curve. The lowercase "e" is funny and reminiscent of Pac-Man, while the color palette is dominated by pastel orange and yellow tones. There is an illustration of mycelium in one corner of the box with a cute smiling face in the middle.
*Mainly limited to restaurants and shops in Colorado and Arizona, occasionally on Meati**.
