Although Zhao Hao was only a small tax collector, he was not overwhelmed by the power of these nine housekeepers. Instead, he to:"Obstruction of official business"with"Tax resistance"decisively put these nine people to death. This news reached the ears of Zhao Sheng, the king of the plains, and he was furious when he heard that his nine housekeepers had been killed by a petty tax collector. He immediately sent someone to arrest Zhao Hao, the murderer. It didn't take long for Zhao Hao to be brought in front of Zhao Sheng. Zhao Sheng's face was full of anger, and he asked sternly: "Are you really the one who ate the bear's heart and leopard gall and dared to kill me?"However, Zhao Hao was not afraid and replied firmly: "I am not deliberately trying to kill your people, but acting according to the laws of Zhao State." They take the lead in disobeying taxes, they deserve it, and they die innocently!When I kill them, I'm actually helping you!Zhao Sheng was shocked by Zhao Hao's answer, and then said, "Then tell me, why did you kill them to help me?"If you can make sense, I will not pursue this matter, and I will recommend you to King Zhao so that you can get a better position and treatment. Zhao Hao said to Zhao Sheng, the king of the plains: "Actually, the reason is very simple, you are the noble son of Zhao State, if you allow your housekeeper to violate the law and discipline and evade taxes, then the laws of Zhao State will lose their majesty." If the law loses its majesty, the overall strength of the Zhao State will be affected and weakened. Once the strength of the Zhao State is weakened, it is possible that the armies of the various vassal states will come to invade us. If it really comes to that point, the Zhao Kingdom may cease to exist, how can you continue to enjoy wealth and nobility?Where will your wealth and status come from?However, if you lead by example, obey the law, and treat everyone equally, then the state of Zhao will become stronger. When the Zhao State is strong, the society is naturally stable, and you, as the nobleman of the Zhao State, will also be respected by more people. Who would dare to underestimate you?After listening to Zhao Hao's words, Zhao Sheng suddenly understood and felt very ashamed. He lowered his head, admitted his mistake and apologized to Zhao Hao, and promised to pay taxes on time in the future and never do anything that violated the laws of Zhao again. Zhao Sheng said to Zhao Hao: "As the younger brother of King Zhao, you are not afraid that I will kill you, I think you are really a talent!."So, he decided to recommend Zhao Hao to King Zhao. Zhao Sheng, the king of the plains, was listed as one of the four princes of the Warring States, which was not in vain. In fact, he was a very generous and open-minded person. Although Zhao Hao killed his housekeeper, he did not hold a grudge against him and wanted to kill Zhao Hao. On the contrary, he asked Zhao Hao to point out his faults, and even recommended Zhao Hao to King Zhao, so that his position and treatment were promoted. It is very rare for such a person in a high position to be able to keep a clear head and have the courage to admit and correct his mistakes. In contrast, some people can't do this. For example, King Qi Xuan back then, he obviously made a mistake, but the people around him were covering up for him and not allowing others to say that he was not. It's a shameful behavior that some people are horribly smart, but they use it in the wrong place. From Zhao Hao's story, we can get the following three important lessons, which are all of great help to us: First, if a team wants to become strong, the role of leadership is crucial. When a leader decides to move something or a project forward, their leadership is crucial. As long as the leader can be hands-on and responsible, then the progress of the whole project will often be very smooth. It is difficult to achieve big results in the fight against corruption from the bottom, because the real umbrella and the big tiger are on top. Those general managers, directors, assistant managers and department managers, they are the people who really hold the power and may use the power to carry out corruption, and they are the key targets of anti-corruption. Ordinary employees occasionally take advantage of their positions to receive small gifts from customers, which is just human nature and does not need to be too strict. If the top management can set an example and use the anti-corruption money at the grassroots level, will the grassroots environment still be so dark?The dark phenomenon at the grassroots level is often caused by the actions of the top, which is called the upward and downward effect. Whether the behavior of the top management is correct, the people below can see clearly, they will follow the example, and maybe even go even further.
