Chiang Kai-shek and Chen Bui, one was the leader of the Kuomintang and the other was the first pen of the Kuomintang, and their cooperation can be described as a legend. Chen Bui wrote countless manuscripts for Chiang Kai-shek, such as "Letter to the People" and "Xi'an Half Moon Chronicle", which are all his masterpieces. But, you know what? There have also been unpleasant things between them, which even led to Chen Bui's suicide.

In December 1947, at the meeting of the Communist Party of China, a report entitled "The Present Situation and Our Tasks" was made. This report analyzed the balance of forces between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, pointed out the internal contradictions and corruption of the Kuomintang, and put forward the revolutionary line of taking the countryside as the base area, armed struggle as the main form, and the people's war as the strategic policy. This report caused a huge reaction, and Chiang Kai-shek also saw the article.

After reading it, Chiang Kai-shek took the article and said to Chen Bui in person: "Mr. Bray, look at how well other people's articles are written!"Chiang Kai-shek's remarks were to complain about Chen Bui's poor performance, which was also his consistent behavior of "throwing the pot". Chen Bui, who had always been concerned with Chiang Kai-shek's arbitrary interference in his writing, couldn't help it, so he said to Chiang Kai-shek: "Other people's articles are written by themselves....”

Chen Bui's words made Chiang Kai-shek angry, but because Chen Bui's identity and what he said was true, Chiang Kai-shek was not easy to attack at that time. However, this incident caused a rift in the relationship between Chen Bui and Chiang Kai-shek, which indirectly led to Chen Bui's suicide on November 13, 1948. Chen Bui said in his suicide note: "My heart is pure and straight, and I have no other private thoughts except for being loyal to my father. He also left a message: "Let me be quiet!".These were his last words to the world.

Chen Bui's death added a bit of sorrow to Chiang Kai-shek's embattlement. He wrote down the words "contemporary perfect" to mourn Chen Bui. He spoke highly of Chen Bui: "Fear of the base (Chen Bui's pen name) rafter pen, more than one million teachers", "Summing up his life, he is strong in his deeds, loyal to the country, respectful in his life, and honest in his wealth, which is enough to be a model for people". However, his words could no longer save Chen Bui's life, nor could they cover up his mistakes. Turn the page in 2023
