It has been 41 years since China sent medical teams to Rwanda, and since 2012, Masaka Hospital has also become another front for medical teams to carry out TCM diagnosis and treatment. After years of assistance and cooperation, the Chinese medical team has established a deep friendship with the local doctors of Masaka Hospital. The local doctors not only respected and recognized the members of the medical team in their work, but also developed a strong interest in traditional Chinese medicine, and doctors and interns continued to come to learn about Chinese medicine and acupuncture.

Recently, at the request of members of Masaka Hospital and the Rwandan Wushu Association, the Chinese medical team carried out a special training on the theme of "Improving Sports Injuries with Traditional Chinese Medicine" on the Chinese Medicine Festival.
At the training meeting, Yuan Mengxian, a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, introduced the principles and operation methods of acupuncture, cupping, and massage, as well as precautions, and also explained how to easily select acupuncture points, and guided the trainees to carry out practical operations. Among them, the doctors of the physiotherapy department and the members of the martial arts association have achieved the immediate effect of the training.

The doctors who participated in the training said that although they often see TCM doctors performing acupuncture, cupping, etc. for patients, and they themselves and their families often come to seek TCM, they felt that it was interesting and effective, but they did not know why, by participating in this special training, they had a sense of enlightenment, and also formed a deeper understanding of TCM culture, and expressed their hope that there will be more learning opportunities in the future, so that they can also use TCM knowledge and skills to help more Rwandan patients.
