Mondo Culture Updated on 2024-01-31

In order to further improve the professional construction level of art museums and promote the high-quality development of art museums in China, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will carry out the selection of outstanding projects of national art museums in 2023 and start the application in the near future.

According to reports, all levels and types of state-owned art museums (including art museums, exhibition halls, art master memorial halls, etc.) and private art museums that will be open to the public before January 1, 2022 and open to the public all year round can apply. The application projects are divided into two types: exhibition projects and public education, which must be independently planned by each museum and completed in 2023. The same project cannot be declared for both types at the same time. National key art museums are required to have two types of projects, and each museum is limited to 2 exhibition projects and 1 public education project. Among them, the exhibition project shall be extended for no less than 30 days. Non-national key art museums can independently choose the type of project to be declared according to the actual situation, and each museum is limited to one exhibition project and one public education project. Among them, the exhibition project will be held for no less than 15 days. Art museums are encouraged to apply for academic special exhibitions, online and offline exhibitions based on their own collections or local art resources, as well as long-term and serial public education projects. Projects that have been selected for the 2023 National Art Museum Collection Exhibition Season, the 2023 National Art Museum Young Curator Support Program, and projects for which the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is the organizer or supporter are not allowed to apply for this project. The deadline for filing is January 28, 2024. (Reporter Liu Miao) (*China Culture Daily).
