Emperor Guangxu was the eleventh emperor of the Qing Dynasty, who reigned from 1875 to 1908. During his reign, the Qing Dynasty faced many problems:

1.Ascending the throne at a young age: Emperor Guangxu ascended the throne at the age of 4, and due to his young age, his reign was effectively controlled by the Empress Dowager Cixi and other court dignitaries.

2.First Sino-Japanese War: During the reign of Emperor Guangxu, the Qing Dynasty was defeated in the First Sino-Japanese War, which dealt a serious blow to the Qing Dynasty's international status and national image.

3.Wuxu Reform: In 1898, the Guangxu Emperor initiated the Wuxu Reform, a reform movement that focused on reforming the political, economic, and educational systems. However, the Pentecostal Reform Act met with strong opposition from conservatives and ultimately failed.

4.Empress Dowager Cixi's Influence: Empress Dowager Cixi took de facto power during the reign of Emperor Guangxu, and her reign had a profound impact on the politics, economy, and society of the Qing Dynasty.

The Guangxu Emperor faced many challenges during his reign, and he tried to promote China's modernization process through the Wuxu Reform, but ultimately failed. His rule was limited to some extent by the Empress Dowager Cixi, and also by conservative forces within the Qing Dynasty. The cause of his death is also full of suspicions. Guangxu is an emperor whose ambitions have nowhere to be displayed, an aggrieved emperor, an emperor who can't even protect his favorite concubine, a poor man!
