Xiling Seal Co., LtdActually, there is no such name.
The reason for this is that in the recent new term of the Xiling Seal Society, a century-old cultural society in China, it elected an honorary leadership body with a majority of Japanese: among the 12 honorary presidents, vice presidents, and directors, 7 are Japanese, of which 6 are honorary directors, all of whom are Japanese, and not a single Chinese.
This caused an uproar and formed a major public cultural hot search topic.
However, the Xiling Seal Society only treated it in a simple and rude way of closing the relevant comments, cowering and hiding, deaf to the surging public opinion of concern, love, and expectation.
Therefore, some people ridiculed it as whether the name of Xiling Seal Society should be changed to Co., Ltd.?After all, the Japanese accounted for 58 percent of the honorary leadership3 In the case of absolute control, there is a reason to choose a title that conforms to the Xi of others.
It is the oldest literati community in China
In the thirtieth year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1904), the Xiling Seal Society was initiated by Ding Ren, Wang Yu, Wu Yin, Ye Ming and others of the Zhejiang School of Seal Carvers. Li Shutong, Huang Binhong, Ma Yifu, Feng Zikai, Wu Hufan, Pan Tianshou, Fu Baoshi, Wang Gequan, Tang Yun and other famous artists have joined it and carried it forward. Since Wu Changshuo became the first president in 1913, the successive presidents of Xiling Seal Society, Ma Heng, Zhang Zongxiang, Sha Menghai, Zhao Puchu, Qi Gong, and Jao Tsung-i, are all highly regarded cultural symbols and art giants in modern China. Every name is like thunder.
Since the beginning of history, Xiling Seal Society has the lofty praise of "the first society in the world" and has become the cultural peak of the Indians in the world. As of May 2023, there are only 516 members of Xiling Seal Society, of which only 44 are honorary members. Among the tens of thousands of gold and stone seal carving artists and practitioners, some people join the Xiling Seal Society with a lifelong pursuit and become an ordinary member.
Xiling Seal Society is carved in gold and stone, which is Shaolin Temple in Chinese martial arts
Both are well-known organizations, Shaolin Temple and Xiling Seal Society have a lot in common.
First of all, they are all symbolic cultural existences in China, and secondly, they are all national treasure-level cultural relics protection units. At the same time, the Xiling Seal Society also has some extraordinary special identities. For example, the Xiling Seal Society is not only a cultural society, but also a publishing houseIt is both a professional printing library and a museumIt is not only the organizer of long-term professional events, but also the organizer of relevant international summits. There is no doubt that these professional branches and professional actions that have had a wide impact on the world are born from the roots of Chinese culture and the century-old inheritance of Xiling Seal Society.
So it's hard to imagine that one day the Shaolin Temple will have a leadership organization similar to an honorary council, and the leadership will be overwhelmingly JapaneseNone of the Chinese at one level of leadership are qualified?
Speaking of qualifications, a historical and cultural case must be mentioned here
This may become a requirement for some personnel of the Xiling Seal Society today to self-qualify. It is about the story of the Japanese who once coveted the treasure of the Xiling Seal Society - "The Monument of the Three Old Men of the Han Dynasty".
"Han San Old Stele" is the earliest stone stele found in Zhejiang so far, and the oldest existing Chinese stone stele. After the Han Dynasty became a monument, it was unearthed in Kexing Mountain, Yuyao, Zhejiang Province in the second year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1852), and was known as "the first stone in Zhejiang" because it has great historical and textual archaeological research value.
In the autumn of 1921, when they heard that the Japanese had purchased the "Han San Old Monument" with a lot of money and had been loaded on a ship to be shipped abroad, Wu Changshuo and others anxiously ran and issued a fundraising announcement in the name of the Xiling Seal Society, calling on colleagues at home and abroad to actively donate and work together to prevent the loss of national treasures. In the end, more than 60 people including Wu Changshuo donated 8,000 silver yuan from the charity sale of calligraphy and painting prints, and redeemed it at a heavy price. In the second year, funds were raised again to build a special stone house to store and protect the stone monument to this day. In this process, Wu Changshuo personally wrote the article "The Records of the Old Stone Chamber of the Han Dynasty" to record the reasons before and after the operation.
Now, the stone house is still in the Xiling Seal Society
Stone House Couplet, "Competing for a Stone in Yanhan, Forever Minghu Wansi Year". The words are still in the ears, and they are deafening.
It was the colleagues of the Xiling Seal Society who went toe-for-tat with the Japanese businessmen back then, spared no effort to run and appeal, together with the patriotic act of raising donations and redeeming them, which made the national treasures and cultural relics live forever in their homeland and made them the treasures of the Xiling Seal Society today.
Not only that, after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Xiling Indians shared the same hatred and hatred, upheld the literati style of high style and brightness, resolutely did not merge with the Japanese puppet, and stopped all activities of the Indian Society. Many members of the society moved from place to place, living only on the meager income from carving seals and selling calligraphy and paintings, but they still saved money to pay the wages of the left-behind people on time, so that the printing society survived the turmoil and catastrophe.
Once, in the tormented moment of national disaster, the Xiling Yin people saved the country with poetry, calligraphy, painting and words in the unique way of literati and ink writers, risked their lives to rescue and protect cultural relics, and wrote a magnificent entrepreneurial history and cultural history in the history of Xiling Seal Society and modern Chinese history with lofty patriotic enthusiasm and national integrity, and achieved the cultural spirit and national spirit of the century-old community.
Past experience, if not forgotten, is a guide for the future..
Although history is gone, the bones should still be there.
