Throwing away masks in 2023 is a rare good year in the history of Xiangxi's climate.

This year, the overall wind and rain in the whole territory of Xiangxi were smooth, drought and flood were not caused, cold and hot were not sluggish, and the weather was even. As a result, we have a bumper harvest in rice fields, a bumper harvest in orchards, a bumper harvest in fish ponds, and a bumper harvest in vegetable fields ......If it weren't for the occasional scattered dead wood that sweeps the forests over the forest, we would almost forget that we had survived a long drought of more than three months last year.

The good years have also been passed on to the cultural and tourism industry in Xiangxi.

This year, we successfully held the National Cultural and Tourism Empowerment Rural Revitalization Work On-site Experience Exchange Meeting, and the case of Xiangxi Prefecture's cultural and tourism empowerment rural revitalization was included in the "Culture and Tourism Decision-making Reference" of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Fenghuang County was selected as the first batch of cultural industry empowerment rural revitalization pilots in the country.

This year, for the first time, we owned an airport on our own land, and took the opportunity to launch the "Xiangxi by Flight" tourism marketing campaign, reaching Europe, America, North Africa, Southeast Asia, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and other domestic and foreign source markets.

This year, we added 2 national 4A-level tourist attractions, 1 national-level tourism and leisure block and 2 provincial-level night culture and tourism consumption clusters, and added 4 new cultural and tourism enterprises above designated size, and Fenghuang County, Jishou City and Yongshun County were selected as the "Top 100 Counties with Comprehensive Strength" in national county tourism. In particular, the Phoenix Ancient City has made significant progress in creating a national 5A-level scenic spot, which has passed the on-site acceptance and is only waiting for the announcement of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

This year, we held special festivals such as the Hunan Summer Rural Tourism Festival, the Phoenix National Costume Culture Festival, and the Canyon Starry Sky Beer Festival, and played with the activities that created an atmosphere such as "National Culture into the Scenic Area", "Four Seasons Village Evening", "Mysterious Xiangxi New Year" and "Mysterious Xiangxi Catching the Golden Autumn", and broadcast excellent documentaries such as "Shen Congwen and Xiangxi" and "Exploring China in a Brief Manner", which further expanded our brand appeal and tourism attraction.

This year, we have received 29 cultural tourism brands and awards at or above the provincial level, including 18 at the national levelA total of 26 intangible cultural heritage items in the state were selected into the sixth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage recommended projects, ranking first in the provinceSeven new formats were selected as the first batch of "New Generation and New Scenes" of Hunan cultural tourism consumption.

This year, we formulated and released the country's first travel photography group standard and Hunan's first tourism industry group meal standard.

This year, our cultural tourism industry has better conditions, more beautiful scenes, larger volumes, more active postures, and more abundant business formats, which are favored by more and more tourists. The state is expected to receive 5,770 tourists this year810,000 person-times, tourism revenue 5643.8 billion yuan, compared with 37.5 million person-times and 37.5 billion yuan in 2022, a year-on-year increase of more than 50%, ranking among the best in the province.

This year, we are pleased to witness that Xiangxi tourism has entered an obvious "upward channel" in a down-to-earth and down-to-earth manner.

In 2023, Xiangxi tourism will harvest not only a series of achievements that can be listed, but also optimistic expectations for 2024 - hope.

Just like the budding plants that are beginning to take shape under the warm winter sun, the fish drifting on the static water surface, the "run fast" card that can still win the upstream after the bomb, and the first gentle gaze that the goddess finally responds to - I believe that next time will be better and tomorrow will be better, which is hope.

The more hope we see in the midst of hardship, and the more hope we see in the scarcity, the more we can inspire the courage to defend tomorrow and breed the strength to fight for oneself.
