What s going on with the word disappearing after Word typing

Mondo Technology Updated on 2024-01-30

As an all-purpose document editor, Word sometimes types more words, and occasionally the words behind it suddenly disappear. Isn't this situation very confusing? In fact, when such a situation occurs, it is generally the insertion of the word document that is accidentally changed to a rewriting model. In override mode, the entered text replaces everything behind the cursor, rather than inserting new content at the cursor position, as is the case in insert mode.

So, to get back to normal, you just need to modify the override mode to the insert mode. In a Word document, there are several ways to modify the override mode state to insert mode:

1.Press the INSERT key or INS key on your keyboard.

2.Click the "Rewrite" button on the status bar of Word and click the button again to select the "Insert" mode.

3.On the menu bar, select View > Macro > Record New Macro, and then record a macro that switches the override mode to the insertion mode. To do this, press the insert key or ins key, and then stop recording macros. After that, you can switch the override mode to the insertion mode by selecting "View" - "Macro" - "Macro", * the macro you just recorded.

4.Use shortcut keys. For example, in the Windows operating system, you can use the Ctrl+Z shortcut to switch back to insert mode.

It is important to note that after switching back to insert mode, the entered text will not replace everything behind the cursor, but will insert new content at the cursor position. So, be careful when switching back to insert mode to avoid accidentally deleting important content.
