On December 8, the domestic "5-ton hydrogen liquefaction system cold box" independently developed by the Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Sixth Academy was successfully rolled off the assembly line in Beijing, which is the core equipment of the first large-scale hydrogen liquefaction system of continuous conversion heat exchanger, marking a major technological breakthrough in the field of efficient storage and transportation of liquid hydrogen in China, and is comparable to the international advanced level in terms of intelligence and unit energy consumption.

Bao Weimin, director of the Science and Technology Committee of the group company and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Long Lehao, senior consultant of the Changzheng series of launch vehicles and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, leaders of the Sixth Academy, Beijing Science and Technology Innovation Promotion Center, Sinopec, PetroChina and other relevant units attended the off-line ceremony.

It is understood that the "5-ton hydrogen liquefaction system cold box" developed by Aerospace Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has broken through the "liquid nitrogen pre-cooling-hydrogen Claude cycle refrigeration liquefaction process", "large-scale deep and low temperature horizontal cold box integration", "large bearing capacity-high reliability hydrogen turbine expander", "continuous high-efficiency positive hydrogen conversion heat exchanger", "advanced intelligent control system integrating fault diagnosis, automatic start and stop, and adaptive control of variable working conditions" It has formed more than 20 independent intellectual property rights, realized the independent design and integration of core components such as hydrogen turboexpander, control system, catalyst, continuous heat exchanger, etc., and has the characteristics of high heat exchange efficiency, large output, safety and reliability.

The domestic "5-ton hydrogen liquefaction system cold box" is expected to be put into operation in 2024, which can bring the production capacity of China's hydrogen liquefaction equipment to a new level, greatly reduce the cost of hydrogen storage and transportation, ensure the construction of the new energy system of "source-grid-load-storage", provide an important technical and equipment foundation for promoting the transformation and upgrading of the national energy structure, and effectively promote the development of China's hydrogen energy industry.
