Today is destined to be an extraordinary day, and one of them is whether we can safely and smoothly pass through one of the most dangerous passes on the Bingchacha line today, the big quicksand, which requires some luckSecond, today we will cross three passes with an altitude of more than 4,000 meters on the C-Chacha Line, and our ability to resist high altitude will be testedThe third is that today's journey is relatively far, after passing through the big quicksand, it is necessary to pass through Chavalong, the first township after entering Tibet, and go to Ranwu Town on the 318 National Highway through Chayu County, and the road is difficult to travel, most of them are washboards and bomb craters, and the driving speed is destined to be very slow. The advantage is that we are now three people in the same group, we can take turns to drive, do not feel tired, and the vehicle is an off-road vehicle with girders, which is more resistant than the load-bearing type.
The big quicksand is a very dangerous section of the Bingchacha line, one side is the turbulent Nu River, the other side is a steep slope two or three hundred meters high, the slope is full of sand and gravel, because of the landslide leads to the complete loss of surface vegetation, so as soon as there is wind and rain, the sand and gravel will roll down at high speed, causing great harm to passing vehicles and personnel, although many treatment measures have been taken, but with little effect. Comparatively speaking, it is relatively safe because there is no or little wind in the morning, while in the afternoon it is often windy and dangerous. Therefore, people generally choose to pass in the morning.
I got up at 6 o'clock in the morning, and when I looked at it, I found that there was no dust raised above the slope of the big quicksand, indicating that there was no rockfall after the wind stopped at night, which was a good sign.
We hurried up to make breakfast, packed up our equipment and luggage after eating, and went forward to inquire about the news, and saw that there were indeed construction vehicles cleaning up rockfalls.
Just after nine o'clock, there was good news ahead, and it was possible to pass through the big quicksand. We lined up in a queue and under the command of the on-site staff, we carefully and safely passed through the big quicksand section.
I didn't go far before I arrived at the Cactus Forest Scenic Area, which is a free and open scenic spot. We parked our car in a small parking area and walked up the boardwalk, where the mountains and valleys were full of cacti of different heights and golden cactus flowers. Cacti are a common plant in the south, but this is the first time we have seen such a large cactus forest, and we beat wildly again, and then got in the car and left.
At 11 o'clock in the afternoon, we arrived at the first township after entering Tibet, Chawalong Township, Chayu County, Nyingchi City. The streets of this township, located in the valley under the high mountains, are neat, and the square next to the road is very smooth and clean.
In a hurry, we clocked in and continued on the road. At about one o'clock in the afternoon, we arrived at the village of Muruo, settled lunch at a small restaurant on the side of the road, and continued on our way. After a few bumps on the washboard and crater road in the middle of the canyon, we started the climb. Although it is still a washboard and a crater, as the altitude rises, the surrounding scenery is no longer a monotonous bald mountain, but gradually presents forests and snow-capped mountains, and from time to time you can see bright alpine rhododendrons.
Climbing up further, we came to the first pass to be crossed today - the Xiongzhula Pass at an altitude of 4,636 meters. This is a world of ice and snow, and as far as the eye can see, the surrounding mountains are full of white and dazzling snow-capped mountains, and they are white. We parked the car again and took a wild shot. Moving forward, we crossed the second pass of the day - Changla Pass at an altitude of 4498 meters.
What's more exciting is that when we drove forward for more than an hour over the Changla Pass, there was a magical "snow wall" wonder in front: a section of more than 100 meters long road section is completely passed through two snow walls, only able to accommodate two cars barely able to car, the left and right sides of the road are all three or four meters high snow walls, driving on such a road, both feel magical excitement and nervous excitement, for fear that the snow walls on both sides will collapse down, then we will completely confess here. It is said that the road was buried by a huge snowdrift formed by an avalanche on the nearby mountain in winter, and the local authorities forced the snow above the road to clear the road. It's hard to imagine how much effort it took to really deserve to be an infrastructure madman, the third verbal praise.
Then we crossed the highest elevation on the Bingchacha line, the Yishula Pass, with an altitude of 4,706 meters. Then it was all the way downhill, and at eight o'clock in the evening, we came to a fork in the road, went straight to Chayu County, and turned right to Ranwu Town. Although it was already eight o'clock in the evening, but due to the time difference, it was not dark, we decisively chose the direction of Ranwuzhen, but later found that this section of the journey was much farther than we imagined, fortunately, the three of us took turns to drive, especially the two brothers were particularly powerful, I was a lot easier, and the road surface was getting better and better, and finally arrived at Ranwuzhen at ten o'clock in the evening to find the hotel.
After dinner, we borrowed the hotel's washing machine to wash and dry the dirty clothes before resting. Fortunately, none of the three of us showed symptoms of hyperreflex, and we look forward to tomorrow morning's Ranwu Lake living up to our expectations.
