What is the design that is most relevant and relevant to the general public? There is no doubt about the decoration. With the progress of urbanization, most ordinary people, regardless of their stage, work and live in the city, and most of the goals of almost all people are to own their own house in the city. These commercial houses are the carriers of the close relationship between the general public and design, and for home decoration, decoration seems to have become the main theme of design. In most people's minds, decoration is synonymous with design. And the so-called decoration, from the literal meaning can be glimpsed one or two, decoration and maintenance can almost include them. To summarize them in a more simple way, decoration is actually a face project, decorated in all parts of the space, and the most superficial finishing layer is the core. The practice of exposing some of the layers of the structure is often ridiculed as Syrian. However, the wide range of material expressions is often used in architectural design. Today I would like to introduce you to such a concrete house, which may only represent a rough building in your eyes, to see how it can achieve economic simplicity without losing its personality.
The project is located in Chile and the site is located on a steep slope, and the surrounding residential buildings stand on the slope without exception. Although the site is sloping, it is 10 meters wide and 30 meters long, covering a total area of 300 square meters. For such a site, the building was designed from the beginning of the design of the building to be divided into three areas of different elevations, the ground floor open space is connected to the road and is an open parking area, while the building is located at the second elevation, a square area of 7 7 meters, which becomes the base of the building. There is a 3-meter height difference between this and the open space on the ground floor, and it is connected by a straight staircase on one side.
The exterior of the building is particularly simple, a simple concrete poured box volume, the only special place is the position of the staircase, a rotating window volume is placed, and the two-story glass curtain wall introduces sufficient sunlight to the interior, but in the south direction is a completely thick concrete wall. For Chile, which is located in the southern hemisphere, the north side is more sunny, so the main lighting surface of the interior space is placed on the north side, whether it is the living area on the first floor or the bedroom on the second floor, all of which are windowed towards the north side.
The space between the north-facing interior space and the hillside on the north side of the site creates an open courtyard space, which serves as a transition between indoor and outdoor areas, not only providing outdoor activities for living spaces, but also ensuring smooth airflow between indoor and outdoor airflow. Whether the façade is completely exposed to concrete, or the interior space is fully wooden, it shows us the beauty of the material itself when used in a large area. To make the space more pure to present makes the so-called Syrian ridicule meaningless. The real space design is the grasp of light rather than the understanding of the finishing layer.
