FDA Cosmetic Compliance Deadline.
The compliance date for cosmetics companies is December 29, 2023, but the mandatory penalty period has been postponed by 6 months, that is, before July 1, 2024. Now that the FDA registration system has been fully opened, we recommend that cosmetics exporters complete the registration as soon as possible to achieve compliance as soon as possible.
Cosmetics sold in the U.S., whether locally produced or imported from abroad, must comply with the labeling requirements of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic (FD&C) Act, the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (FP&L), and regulations issued by the Food and Drug Administration under these two laws. Cosmetics are considered mislabeled if:
1.The label is false or misleading.
2.The label does not indicate the name and address of the manufacturer, packer or distributor;Net quantity of contents.
3.The requested information is not prominently and prominently stated in a way that consumers read and understand under the Xi conditions of purchase and use.
4.The container or its filling is misleading.
