Zhu Shaoyu, a famous opera artist, introduced the highlights of the singing voice in the new Peking Opera "Qi Baishi". The play continues the style of the Beijing Peking Opera Company's "Prime Minister Liu Luoguo", with the purpose of "good-sounding, good-looking, and fun", and at the same time draws on the Beijing folk songs "To Flowers" and "Painting Fan", etc., and absorbs elements such as Beijing opera and Beijing rhyme drumsThe composer also designed the singing voice according to the different professions, genres and personal styles of the leading actors, such as designing the main singing section according to the genre style of Zhang Jianfeng, a veteran of the Xi School, and when designing the singing voice for Li Hongtu, a famous Xiaosheng master of the Ye School, he took into account the identity of the character and the style of the actor, so that the two were harmonious and unified.
Liu Tong, director of the Beijing Peking Opera Company and producer of Qi Baishi, said that after nearly four years of twists and turns in the creation process of the new Peking Opera "Qi Baishi", the theater has devoted itself to meticulous polishing, and at the same time has received strong support and assistance from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Beijing Academy of Fine Arts. This premiere is not only a report to the majority of theater fans, audiences, and leading experts who care about and support the development of Peking Opera art, but also a report to the inheritance and development of Peking Opera art in the new era as a Peking Opera artist.
In order to create a time-space atmosphere with both a sense of age and Beijing's regional characteristics, and to bring an immersive experience to the theater fans and audiences, the Beijing Peking Opera Company has also "renovated and upgraded" the front hall of the Chang'an Grand Theater. As soon as the audience enters the door, they can see rock sugar gourds, Daoxiangcun dim sum, clockwork frogs, bamboo dragonflies, rattles, shrimp-shaped sugar, these amusement elements with Beiping characteristics and full of childlike innocence.
