On December 14, Zhu Hongquan, vice president of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi Medical University and director of the Epilepsy Center, led a group of 5 people, including Lin Niantong, the leading department of the epilepsy center of the hospital and the executive director of the neurology department, to participate in the awarding of the "CAAE Level I and II Epilepsy Center" unit in Nanchang.
It is understood that the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi Medical University established an epilepsy center on February 16, 2022. In April 2022, the China Epilepsy Center officially launched the review process.
The leaders of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi Medical University attached great importance to the review work, and the person in charge of the center responded positively, carefully prepared in accordance with the review terms, standards and rules, paid close attention to the implementation, and worked together on various soft and hard indicators. On May 31, 2023, the Epilepsy Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi Medical University accepted the third batch of evaluation by the China Anti-Epilepsy Association, stood out among 189 units across the country, and successfully passed the review and awarding of the National Epilepsy Secondary Center, marking a new level of epilepsy diagnosis and treatment in the hospital, and the Epilepsy Center will provide more standardized and high-quality diagnosis and treatment services for the majority of epilepsy patients.
The Epilepsy Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi Medical University provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment services for epilepsy patients, led by the Department of Neurology, composed of neurology, neurosurgery, pediatrics, psychiatry, electroencephalogram room, imaging medicine, pharmacy, psychiatry, ** department and other departments, and the epilepsy professional medical staff of each department has established epilepsy medicine, epilepsy surgery, pediatric neurology, electroencephalography, neuroimaging, Multidisciplinary professional diagnosis and treatment teams such as neurological function assessment and psychoanalysis advocate multidisciplinary collaboration to observe, diagnose and improve diseases from different professional perspectives.
At present, the center has set up 3 epilepsy outpatient clinics and 20 epilepsy wards that meet the standards, including 6 beds with EEG monitoring. There are 10 members of the center with intermediate and senior professional titles, 3 with intermediate certificates of epilepsy specialists, 2 with primary certificates, and 2 with CAAE intermediate EEG certificates. The center is equipped with 6 sets of ordinary ** EEG monitoring equipment (32-lead or 64-lead), 1 set of 256-lead cortical EEG, 2 sets of transcranial magnetic stimulation, and 6 sets of spiral CT machines0T MR 4 units, GR Infinia SPECT 1 unit.
