In the vast land of China, there are many mysterious and ancient villages, which carry profound historical and cultural heritage and witness the vicissitudes of time.

Today, we're going to unveil one of these mysterious villages, Suidi Village, a paradise deep in the mountains of Pingshun County, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province.

Suidi Village, located in the depths of the Taihang Mountains, is surrounded by mountains and has a dangerous terrain. The name of this mysterious village is not "the bottom of the well", but the meaning of deep pit, trap, because the village is surrounded by high mountains and deep valleys, as if it were a huge trap, and this ancient village is well protected.

The village is not only geographically remote, but also extremely inconvenient for transportation. In order to communicate with the outside world, the villagers once built a road called "Stone Staircase to the Sky", with more than 1,800 steps, and the steepness is almost comparable to Taishan Road.

However, even after walking this steep stone staircase, the villagers still have to walk more than ten miles to reach the nearest market. This difficult traffic environment has made the village isolated from the rest of the world for a long time, and it has become a little-known and mysterious village.

However, it is this atmosphere of isolation that has made the village a well-preserved ancient village. Here, people can enjoy the magnificent scenery of Taihang Mountain, feel the prosperous history of the Jinyu Ancient Road, and appreciate the charm of traditional culture such as Nuwa mending the sky and the Queen Mother attaining the Tao.

During the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty (1506-1522), the village already existed, or even earlier. This ancient village carries a rich historical legend and cultural heritage, providing a valuable resource for exploring and researching Chinese history and culture.

With the changes of the times and the development of transportation, Suidi Village has gradually been discovered and paid attention to by the world. In 1997, with the help of various parties, the village built a road and began to gradually connect with the outside world. However, due to the limitations of the terrain, the road can only be excavated along the cliff wall, forming a unique wall-mounted road, which is extremely rare in China.

The construction of this road not only facilitates the communication between the villagers and the outside world, but also brings new development opportunities to this ancient village. With the influx of tourists, Suidi Village has become one of the scenic spots on the Taihang Mountain and the Jinyu Ancient Road, bringing opportunities for the villagers to improve their lives.

Today, there are about 753 people and 232 households in the village, and they mainly make a living by growing medicinal herbs. With the increasing connection with the outside world, the income of the villagers has increased year by year.

People have different opinions about the changes in this ancient village. Some people believe that modernization has destroyed the original ecology of the area, making the "peach blossom paradise" life disappear; However, there are also those who feel that modernization has brought better living conditions and opportunities to the region.

As a mysterious village carrying history, Suidi Village has gradually integrated into modern society after hundreds of years of escapism. It is not only a cultural heritage of historical value, but also a vivid example of the harmonious coexistence of the old and the modern.

Here, ancient traditions and modern technology are fused to bring a more colorful life to the villagers.
