Stumbling and drifting for half a life, in the end empty-handed, back to the hometown to know that we have lost not only a lot of time, but also the parents of the wasted years, do not wait until the loss to suddenly realize, some things once missed, there are no more.
When we are young, we always longed to leave our hometown and pursue the so-called "poetry and distance". We yearn for the wonders of the outside world and look forward to the unknown journey, but we never realize that what we are moving away from is the land that once nurtured us, and those who have accompanied us to grow up.
When we finally returned to our hometown after many years of wandering, we found that everything had changed. The streets of my hometown are no longer what they used to be, and the faces that were once familiar are gone. And the most heart-wrenching thing for us is that our parents are old, their faces are wrinkled, their hair is gray, and their bodies are no longer as tough as they were back then.
We used to think that there was still a lot of time, and we could slowly realize our dreams and accompany our parents. However, we ignore the ruthlessness of time, which never stops for anyone. When we look back, we find that those good things have become memories, and we can never go back to the past.
Some things, once missed, are gone. We can no longer walk, talk and eat with our parents like we did back then. We can no longer play with friends, play together, share joys and troubles together, as we did back then. We can't have those innocent and good times like we did back then.
However, we should not blindly indulge in memories, we should cherish the moment, grasp every opportunity in front of us, to accompany our parents, to care for the people around us. We should learn to value time and stop letting it slip through our fingers.
Let's cherish the present moment and not lose time. Let us face everything in life with a grateful heart, and let us repay those who have grown up with us with a sincere love. Because only by cherishing the present can we have a better future.
