Hyundai Mobis contributes to children's traffic safety through social contribution activities by utilizing the characteristics of its mobile software company.

Hyundai Mobis' representative social contribution activity, the Transparent Umbrella Sharing Campaign, was awarded the Minister of Public Administration and Safety Award at the 2023 Safety Culture Award for its contribution to children's traffic safety. Sponsored by the Ministry of Public Security, the "Safety Culture Award" is the best award in the field and aims to reward individuals and organizations that contribute to raising safety awareness and spreading safety culture in their daily lives.

Since 2010, Hyundai Mobis has been carrying out the "Transparent Umbrella Sharing Campaign" with the Korea Child Safety Foundation and the Road Traffic Administration every year in line with a sense of safety. This is to help build a culture of safe transportation in everyday life through collaboration between public and private organizations.

As part of this, Hyundai Mobis receives applications from elementary schools and individuals each year and distributes more than 100,000 transparent umbrellas. So far, Hyundai Mobis has distributed more than 1.33 million transparent umbrellas nationwide for children's traffic safety this year. This transparent umbrella is specially manufactured with lightweight reinforced materials to help ensure visibility for drivers and pedestrians on rainy days, and an emergency whistle is attached to the handle so kids can easily alert them to an emergency. In fact, according to the Road Traffic Authority, transparent umbrellas can prevent about 30% of child pedestrian accidents.

Junwoo Choi, Executive Director of Hyundai Mobis ESG Promotion Office, said, "Hyundai Mobis has been working to build a safety-centric corporate culture with a sense of responsibility as an automotive parts manufacturer. He added, "We will continue to carry out various activities for the safety of children with an eye on future generations." He said.

Starting this year, Hyundai Mobis has established a new "Children's Traffic Safety Experience Education" program to provide comprehensive safety education for safety accidents that may occur in various vehicles such as automobiles, ships, and railways. A representative example is the training on how to properly wear life jackets to help prevent drowning accidents by working with the Korean Coast Guard, a professional organization.

In addition, Hyundai Mobis has developed a children's traffic safety app, "Road to School," which utilizes cutting-edge gaze recognition technology applied to automobiles. Since the beginning of this year, about 7,000 elementary school students have participated in the education through online and offline activities. Hyundai Mobis plans to continue to spearhead a culture of safe transportation.
