The family is the basic cell of society, and the future and destiny of the family are closely linked to the future and destiny of the country and the nation.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Comrade Xi has attached great importance to the construction of family civilization, and has strived to make thousands of families an important basis for national development, national progress and social harmony, and integrated the realization of personal dreams and family dreams into national dreams and national dreams.

The greatness of the revolutionaries of the older generation lies not only in their dedication to the founding of the republic and in the construction and development of the country, but also in the good family style that they and their descendants have carefully cultivated. Low-key, incorruptible, ordinary, law-abiding, self-reliant, honest, upright ......

To this end, the editorial department of Red Boat has launched the "Red Boat Family Style Story Column", which invites the older generation of revolutionaries, revolutionary martyrs, and descendants of the founding fathers to tell those moving and admirable revolutionary family style stories.

The founding general Deng Huanan fought in the north and fought for the rest of his life. And his wife Li Yuzhi is the third sister of the famous "Three Sisters of the Li Family" in Wei County, Hebei Province; At the same time, he was also an old revolutionary who joined the Eighth Route Army in 1937.

Deng Hua and his wife Li Yuzhi.

Recently, the editorial department of Red Boat interviewed Deng Ying, the daughter of General Deng Hua, and listened to her talk about the influence of her parents on the family.

Deng Ying said: "Our parents taught us to be honest and honest, to do things carefully and carefully, and to rely on ourselves in everything. ”

Deng Ying, the daughter of the founding general Deng Hua.

When Deng Ying's siblings were a few young, General Deng Hua asked them to turn a small garden in front of their house into a vegetable field to grow vegetables. He did not allow his guards, cooks, and drivers to help, and the children were all responsible for plowing the ground, planting vegetables, loosening the soil, watering, and fertilizing. He did this in order to cultivate his children's concept of labor from an early age and tell them not to forget their roots.

From an early age, my mother taught us to be hard and simple." Deng Ying recalled. She still remembers that every Sunday, her mother would sew socks with her children. While teaching by example, Li Yuzhi will also tell the children: "It doesn't matter if your clothes are torn, as long as you wash them cleanly and dress them cleanly, others will not laugh at you." ”

In 1979, Deng Hua and his family were in Beijing.

Deng Ying said proudly: "I can step on the sewing machine, embroider pillows, and sew clothes, all of which my mother taught me. Deng Ying's sisters and brothers were deeply influenced by their mother, and until now, the clothes are worn in turns, and the clothes worn by the elder sister are then worn by the younger sister. She pointed to the sweater she was wearing and said, "My sister gave me this sweater." ”

My mother also often taught us to learn to be united, friendly, and help each other in our daily lives. Deng Ying said. She remembers that when she was a child, her family used to eat a dish called "steamed pumpkin". Once, when she was steaming a pumpkin, she removed the peel, and her mother saw it and said, "The peel is a good thing, you can't throw it away." Then, he told her about the past when she was in Yan'an, cultivating wasteland and planting pumpkins. At that time, there were no storage conditions, so the first troops ate the pumpkin meat, peeled off the pumpkin skin and dried it, and left it for the later troops to eat. Deng Ying often heard her mother say: "Pumpkin skin is a good thing, without the front army planting pumpkins for us to stay, we can't even eat pumpkin skins." ”

In 1979, General Deng Hua's family took a group photo at their residence in Beijing.

My mother was also very kind to people, and she said that everyone in the revolutionary ranks was equal, and there was no distinction between high and low. Deng Ying said.

Li Yuzhi is not only kind to her family, but also kind to the people around her. When Deng Hua's driver's lover and child are sick, she will help contact the doctor and hospitalization, and will also provide financial support. When she got older, she asked a nanny to take care of her, but she was afraid of troublesome nannies, so she tried her best to do many things by herself. Once, in order not to affect the babysitter's rest, I wanted to stand up, but I fell.
