Baron Corbin thinks he should be a future challenger for Roman Reigns.

With La Knight the latest casualty of "The Tribal Chief's" long reign in the Round of the World Championship, there are few fresh and viable opponents in the main roster who can challenge Reignes. However, a former U.S. champion has been waiting for his time in NXT, and he believes his time may come soon if the positive fan momentum continues.

Corbyn, who has been booed consistently in the main lineup, is starting to resurgence as an unlikely positive character in NXT.

Corbyn not only received rave cheers at a live event in France, but also played a positive role against Olympic gold medalist Gable Steverson in (Greatest American Bash).

In an interview with Sam Roberts, Corbyn admitted that it was strange that he was cheered on by his fans, and he thought that if this natural upward momentum continues, he could return to the main arena of the upcoming high-level live event:

Your boys were cheered and received a warm welcome. We now live in a strange world, and Barron Corbyn is actually cheered. Now I love it. Because it's against what was supposed to happen. Sometimes, I want that nobody's in a state, that kind of chaos, that kind of madness. You know, if people start to like what I'm doing and really support me, I'm probably the one to challenge Roman Reigns because he needs an opponent like that. It's going to be an interesting turnaround. ”

Corbyn and Raines battled it out in late 2019, with the former U.S. champion defeating "The Tribal Chieftain" in a rare way on Nov. 8.

After Jey Uso defeated Reignes in a doubles match, Corbyn remains the last superstar to beat Reigns in a one-on-one match.

Roman Reigns will be the next defending champion in the Clash Royale and is scheduled to attend the upcoming Smackdown recording to announce his next defense.

Many may be tempted to forget the 2019 confrontation between Corbyn and Reigns, in which Corbyn overused Raines' "big dog" nickname and poured ** on the current uncontested champion. With Corbyn and Raines very different since 2019, the former king's king thinks it's going to be a whole new matchup:

The last time I worked with Roman, I poured ** on him. It wasn't a pleasant time for him. I also almost vomited because of**. But it will be a shift. He's doing great at the moment, but it almost feels like if people support me, and I love that, it's fresh. It feels very new. When they support me, it's like, man, you're not seeing the same person. When we were doing 'bum ass corbin', 'sad corbin', they began to transform and feel sorry for me. But now it's like they're excited for me. ”

This shift by Barron Corbyn and his willingness to challenge Roman Reigns shows a new phase in his personal career development. From a villain character who was generally disliked by the audience to now gradually accepted and supported by fans, Corbyn's transformation has undoubtedly added more possibilities for his future in the wrestling world. His rematch with Roman Reigns, if it happens, will undoubtedly be an important test of the two wrestlers' character development and storyline.
