"China Circulation-3" is China's current nuclear fusion large-scale scientific device with the highest design parameters and the largest scale, and is also known as China's new generation of "artificial sun". In August this year, the "China Circulation-3" successfully achieved the high-confinement operation mode under the plasma current of 1 million amperes, marking that the operation level of China's magnetic confinement nuclear fusion device has entered the forefront of the world. The International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) is the world's largest "artificial sun" project.
Over the years, the Southwest Institute of Physics of the Nuclear Industry has been deeply involved in the development of key components of ITER, broken through a number of engineering and technical problems, and accumulated rich experience in the construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of fusion devices, laying a solid foundation for China to absorb international advanced technology and finally build its own fusion reactor.
