Miyue in "The Biography of Miyue", the historical prototype is the Empress Dowager Qin Xuan, it can be said that the two are the same person, but they are slightly different, but they are the Empress Dowager Qin Xuan who has undergone artistic processing.
Mi Yue, a native of Danyang of Chu State, also known as the eighth son of Mi, the Empress Dowager of Qin Xuan, the nobleman of Chu State, the concubine of King Qin Huiwen during the Warring States Period, and the mother of King Qin Zhaoxiang, is the first woman in Chinese history to be called the queen mother in the dynasty, and the first woman in Chinese history to control the government.
The historical Empress Dowager Qin Xuan and the artistically processed Miyue are slightly different. In real history, her image is a scheming, deep city, and chaotic private life, while in some literary works and film and television works, Mi Yue's image is a gentle, kind and generous, affectionate and righteous person.
Mi Yue and King Qin Huiwen had a total of three children, one of whom was a son, Yingji, who was sent to Yan as a hostage. After the death of King Qin Huiwen, his half-brother Yingdang succeeded to the throne, that is, King Wu of Qin. But in the fourth year of King Wu of Qin, King Yingdang of Qin Wu died unexpectedly, because King Wu of Qin had no son, Wei Ran, the younger brother of the Empress Dowager of Qin Xuan, welcomed Yingji back and supported her as King Zhaoxiang of Qin. Yingji was young, and Mi Yue became the queen mother of the Great Qin Empire, known as the "Empress Dowager Xuan" in history, and began a 41-year reign in the Linzhao Dynasty.
At the beginning of King Qin Zhaoxiang's accession to the throne, Empress Dowager Xuan was in charge of the throne as the empress dowager, and appointed her younger brother Wei Ran, Mi Rong and her son Gongzi Kui, Gongzi Fu and other four nobles to assist. Her existence greatly limited the power of King Zhaoxiang of Qin, resulting in a situation in which only the Queen Mother and the Four Nobles were known in Qin, but the King of Qin was not known.
After King Zhaoxiang of Qin ascended the throne, the regime was not very stable, and the Yiqu State frequently harassed the Qin State. So Empress Dowager Xuan adopted a policy of Huai Rou, made friends with Yiqu State, and at the same time used beauty tricks to flatter King Yiqu and dedicated herself to him, so King Yiqu let down his guard against Qin. Later, Empress Dowager Xuan tricked King Yiqu into the Ganquan Palace where she lived, and then sent someone to execute him, annexed Yiqu State, and solved the western disaster of Qin.
During the reign of Empress Dowager Xuan, she had stable relations with all parties, attached importance to agricultural development, made friends with distant and close attacks, and preserved her own strength, laying a solid foundation for Qin Shi Huang to sweep away the Six Kingdoms.
In her later years, Empress Dowager Xuan's life seemed bleak. After a series of political turmoil and changes in her personal life, she lost her power, and her relationship with her son, King Qin Zhaoxiang, also cracked. Her younger brother, ministers who usually have a good relationship with her, and relatives all let her son blow away, but her lover Wei Choufu has always been by her side. After the death of the Empress Dowager Xuan, she was buried in Lishan Mountain, Zhiyang.
Overall, Empress Dowager Xuan was an outstanding female politician in Chinese history, and she played an important role in the historical stage of the Qin state. Although some of her methods were more tough and brutal during her administration, her political wisdom and decision-making ability cannot be ignored. Miyue Biography
