Hello everyone, I'm Long Ao. It is a pleasure to be able to delve into the first ancient history and literature with you. Today we will talk about the history of the Three Kingdoms period, specifically, about the selection of the strongest generals in Shu.
Under the influence of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", the five tiger generals of Shu seem to be very popular and have become the focus of everyone's attention. Since everyone is full of love for Shu characters, let's select the Shu generals who everyone thinks are the strongest. I personally chose Guan Yu, what about you?
The five tiger generals of Shu include Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Huang Zhong, Zhao Yun, and Ma Chao, and they are considered to be the top generals of Shu in both romance and official history. Next, we will analyze these five generals from two aspects: force value and military ability.
First of all, the force value. Since official historical documents such as "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" rarely describe heads-up duels between military generals, we can only look for clues from "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". According to the classic example, Guan Yu and Huang Zhong fought in front of Changsha City for more than 100 rounds without a victory, which shows that the strength of the two is equal. Ma Chao and Zhang Fei fought viciously in front of Jiameng Pass for hundreds of rounds and could not tell the winner, which shows that Zhang Fei and Ma Chao's force value is also comparable. Zhao Yun, the only one who did not have a direct confrontation, judging from his record with Xu Chu, Wen Chou, and Zhang He, his force value was also not inferior to the other four.
Secondly, military capabilities. Here we refer to the record of the official history "Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms". Guan Yu's battle of fame was the Battle of Xiangyang, which was large-scale, Guan Yu captured tens of thousands of Cao soldiers alive, and the famous generals of Wei were banned. Zhang Fei used his ingenuity to defeat Zhang He, a famous general of Wei, in the battle of Wakou Pass in the battle for Hanzhong. Huang Zhong's battle of fame was in Dingjun Mountain, where he killed Xiahou Yuan, a famous general of Wei. Ma Chao helped Liu Bei occupy Xichuan, while Zhao Yun defeated Xu Huang and Cao Cao in the Battle of Hanshui.
In general, judging from the real historical records, Guan Yu's battle of Xiangyang was the most brilliant and the largest in scale. In the case of similar force values, Guan Yu's victory on the battlefield is the most dazzling, so the title of the strongest military general in Shu undoubtedly belongs to Guan Yu.
So, is the strongest military general in Shu in your heart also Guan Yu?
