Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, rural issues have always attracted the attention of policymakers. Since October 1, 1949, ** has begun to think about the future of our peasants. In 1951, the "Resolution on Mutual Aid and Cooperation in Agricultural Production" was promulgated to encourage farmers to integrate resources and establish mutual aid cooperatives to jointly promote agricultural production. In 1952, a peasant named Wang Guofan in Hebei Province led 23 poor families in his village to start a simple organization called the "Poor Stick" cooperative, which had only three donkey legs. ** After learning about it, it was hailed as "a microcosm of the whole country".
Subsequently, as the founder of the cooperative, Wang Guofan was received by leaders such as *** many times and became a well-known farmer leader in the country. So, what kind of story happened to the kingdom?Wang Guofan, born in 1919 in Xishilipu Village, Zunhua County, Hebei Province, was born in poverty. My hometown is located in the middle of the mountainous area, and the land is barren. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, although the peasants were given land, the barren land still made it difficult for them to feed their families. In 1952, Wang Guofan called on 23 other villagers in the village to co-founded the Rural Mutual Aid Cooperative.
Since the members of the cooperative are all poor people, many people jokingly refer to the cooperative as a "poor stick" cooperative with only three donkey legs. As for the "three donkey legs", perhaps many people do not understand the meaning of it. In fact, there is a story behind this. Before the establishment of the cooperative, four families in the village jointly purchased a donkey, which was used by the four families in partnership. However, at the time of joining the cooperative, only three households bought donkeys and joined the cooperative, while one did not. Although those who do not join the cooperative do not become members of the cooperative, they also have a "share" of donkeys.
According to the division of donkey legs, those who join the cooperative have three donkey legs, so this cooperative is also nicknamed the "poor stick" cooperative with only three donkey legs. In 1966,** during a meeting with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Albania, Mohamed Shehu, he was told about the situation of "we have a three-legged donkey". After hearing this, the interpreter hurriedly confirmed whether it was trueAfter getting ***'s affirmative answer, Xie Hu was so surprised that he couldn't even take care of eating, and he had to see the "three-legged donkey".
In the end, *** led him to Wang Guofan, and let Wang Guofan personally tell the story of the establishment of the cooperative, and Xie Hu was suddenly opened. Relying on cooperatives, Xishilipu Village has made great development achievements, and achieved 4580,000 catties of grain output. After various expenses, the cooperative received an average of more than 190 yuan per household, which was an impressive figure at that time. **After learning of this, he affectionately praised the cooperative in Xishilipu Village, calling it "a model for the whole country".
In 1957, Wang Guofan was selected as the country's first model agricultural worker and was cordially received by the leaders. Subsequently, in 1969, as a representative, Wang Guofan participated in the "Ninth National Congress" meeting and was elected as a member of the Ninth ** Committee. He was consecutively elected as a member of the 10th and 11th ** committees, and also served as the secretary of the Tangshan Prefectural Party Committee of Hebei Province and other local positions. However, in 1978, Wang was abruptly dismissed. There are various theories about the reasons for his dismissal, but what is certain is that during this particular decade, he made mistakes, which was the main reason for his dismissal.
Subsequently, Wang Guofan returned to his hometown of Xishilipu Village to work as a farmer and continued to live a peasant life. In order to take care of him, the organization arranged for him to serve as a consultant to the Zunhua County Water Conservancy Bureau. Until he died of illness in 2005 at the age of 86.
