Blind to it, the name is Yi;
I don't hear it, and my name is Xi;
I can't fight, and the name is small.
These three cannot be interrogated, so they are mixed into one.
It is not bright above, and it is not ambiguous below
The rope is nameless, and it is nothing again.
It is said to be formless, the image of nothing, and it is said to be trance.
The first one is missing, and then the one is gone.
Seeing with the eyes but not seeing is called colorlessness;
Hearing with the ears but not hearing is called silence;
Touching it with your hands but not being able to touch it is called invisible.
There is no way to investigate the cause of these three phenomena, so they are collectively referred to as "one".
This "one" is not bright above, not dark below, this "one" is endless and there is no way to describe it, it comes and goes, and it seems to not exist.
This is a shape without a shape, an image without a physical object, and this is the so-called underworld.
I want to meet it but can't find the source, I want to follow it but I can't see the end.
This chapter is really incomprehensible, and Lao Tzu is really a powerful man. As early as thousands of years ago, he was able to use his consciousness to travel through time and space and understand some truths, which seemed to be the remote vision ability of a person with special abilities. Just like Lao Tzu said in the text, there are some things that we can't see, can't mention, and can't touch, but these things are endless, and we can neither find the source nor see the end, just like "one", Taoism talks about one life and two, two and three, and three things, and infinite scarcity. But who created the "one", even Lao Tzu can't see through, is it the reason why it is limited to the three-dimensional world. Maybe all those things in the dark exist, but modern science can't explain them.
