Future Technology: Embracing the future. SlateControl is an innovative analogue monitoring device designed for the modern studio. Created by experienced designer Paul Wolff (formerly of API and Tonelux), it is being launched as the official display module for the R**EN MTX MK2 and R**EN MTI2. SlateControl is the ideal monitoring solution for professional studios that require a lot of features, authentic sound quality, and an efficient workflow. It can even be used to emulate the modification of consoles or sidecars and provides easy access to a solo system to improve the monitoring of older technology.
The device covers all the standard features commonly found on large rack mixers, such as multi-input, multi-speaker, and subwoofer (LFE) control, headphones, studio speakers, cues, talkback, reverse talkback, and external independent interfaces. The SLATE controller can be used as a portable stand-alone unit or flush-mounted into an existing desktop. The front panel measures 7 inches and fits easily into the standard fader slots of most mixers. Data converters (DACs), field-effect transistor (FET) switches, voltage control amplifiers (VCAs), or optoelectronic devices that pass through the device's signal path will never appear.
All switching is done via relays, including the main control room level, and the device uses a relay array to ensure accurate left and right sound panning and handover accurate to 1dB. The control head has a depth of 7 inches, so it can be easily retrofitted to the fader section of any old console, or to the location of the original monitoring system when refurbishing an old console. The highlights are as follows: The control head can be used as a stand-alone "tabletop" module or can be integrated directly into the armrest of the R**EN MTX MK2 or R**EN Z3. The control head has a depth of 7 inches, so it can be easily retrofitted to the fader section of any old console, or to the location of the original monitoring system when refurbishing an old console.
7 stereo inputs and logic inputs with solobus signals for console retrofits. Each speaker comes with 3 LFE-enabled speaker options. Speakers B and C have adjustment controls that match the volume of speaker A. Multiple cue outputs with talkback and slate functions. Integrated intercom system with built-in microphone and external microphone input. Reverse talkback microphone input for two-way communication with the artist. Optional auto-intercom function, enter TB when **stop**. CAL mode presets the reference level for the speakers, disabling the volume control of the "you" main control room. cut, mono compatible and left speaker polarity features.
The LFE output has characteristics such as 80 120Hz, 12dB OCT, LPF and direct output mode. In addition, the device provides DB25 connectivity for input and output as well as DB9 connectivity for VU assist and intercom assist remote functions. It is worth mentioning that it is also equipped with 1 8 input interfaces for audio sources**.
