Zhang Xiaoyun, director of the Hubei Provincial Museum, introduced that the excavation of the tomb of Marquis Yi in 1978, the successful reproduction of the bell of Marquis Yi in 1984 and the convening of the international conference of Chimes of Marquis Yi in 1988 are landmark events of international cooperation in Chinese archaeology, experimental archaeology and archaeological research, and open a new model in history, paleography, astronomy, physics, metallurgical casting, and regional cultural research.
