At least 15 people killed in shootings at top European universities

The Czech Republic said on the 21st local time that an incident occurred at Charles University in Prague, the capital of the country, on the same day, resulting in at least 15 deaths and 25 injuries, including the gunman, of which 10 were seriously injured.

The Czech Republic said at the press conference that the incident occurred in the Faculty of Arts of Charles University on the afternoon of the 21st local time. One of the gunmen has died, and no other suspects have been identified.

According to local reports, it received information at noon on the same day that a 24-year-old man had shot and killed his father at his home on the outskirts of Prague and then went to Charles University. The body of the gunman's father was subsequently found in the house.

Czech Interior Minister Rakushan said on the same day that there is no indication that the incident is related to international terrorism.

After the incident, the Czech Republic decided to designate December 23 as a national day of mourning, when the flag will be lowered at half-mast to mourn. The decision was taken at an extraordinary session held on the same day, which was also attended by Czech Pavel and the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies.

Czech Prime Minister Fiala called on citizens to observe a minute of silence on the National Day of Mourning to remember the victims of the incident on the afternoon of the 21st.
