Xiamen, 14 Dec (Xinhua) -- The 16 th Cross-Strait Forum of 100 Principals of Primary and Secondary Schools (Secondary Vocational) opened in Xiamen on 14 December. About 190 principals from both sides of the Taiwan Strait discussed the theme of "Cultivating Innovative Talents" in a combination of "online and offline".
Chen Liying, deputy director of the Fujian Provincial Department of Education, said that innovative talents are an important force to promote national progress and development, and an important foundation for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. With the theme of "Cultivation of Innovative Talents", this forum is in line with reality, timing and development, and is a topic of common concern on both sides of the strait, which is conducive to promoting mutual learning among colleagues in the education circles on both sides of the strait, exploring and innovating, and integrating development.
At this forum, principals from Taiwan shared their ideas and practices in the cultivation of innovative talents through reports and services, and looked forward to the common progress of education on both sides of the strait and common prosperity together. Lu Songlin, chairman of the Taiwan Provincial Education Association, believes that the development of modern education is showing a trend of diversification, and cultivating students' teamwork ability and hands-on operation ability are important ways to cultivate innovative talents in the AI era.
Huang Zheng, vice president of the Chinese Society of Education, said that the cross-strait education circles will hold forums in turn to focus on the outstanding problems faced by the reform and development of primary and secondary schools and secondary vocational education, break down prejudices, have frank exchanges, and jointly explore ideas and methods to solve them. Through the holding of the forum, we have strengthened communication, shared and mutual learning, promoted mutual understanding, and jointly promoted cross-strait integration and development.
Founded in 2007, the Cross-Strait Forum of 100 Principals of Primary and Secondary Schools (Secondary Vocational) is hosted by the education circles on both sides of the Taiwan Strait in turn. The forum was jointly organized by the Xiamen Municipal People**, the Chinese Education Association and the Taiwan Provincial Education Association, and undertaken by the Xiamen Municipal Education Bureau, the Xiamen Taiwan Compatriots Association and the Xiamen Education Society. The forum will last until the 16th.
