My basic understanding of the Palestinian Israeli issue

Original Lu Anchun essay This week, I originally wanted to write about the experience of catching wild wasps with young people during the National Day holiday, but in the past few days, I have discussed the Palestinian-Israeli issue with my friends, and I feel that there are some things that need to be written. I said in my last article, "A lot of times, who you read determines how high you can get. "As the situation in the Middle East deteriorated further, I had some discussions with some friends around me, and my feelings during this period reinforced my previous view. From reading, I learned the general information about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as follows:1As of 19 October, at least 3,478 people had been killed and 12,065 injured, 70 per cent of whom were women and children. There are now more than 2,000 patients in 22 hospitals in northern Gaza, and the World Health Organization says that Israel forced them to evacuate them in the amount of a death sentence. At least 30 people were killed in the Israeli bombing of a mosque in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. In addition, Israeli air strikes killed residents of northern Gaza who had been evacuated to southern Gaza on orders of the Israeli military, while bombing designated "safe havens" in southern Gaza by Israel, killing a number of residents of Gaza City who had been evacuated on Israeli orders. In order to prevent relief supplies from entering Gaza, Israel bombed the gateway on the Gaza side. While banning relief supplies from entering the Gaza Strip, Israel blew up a United Nations relief warehouse in the central Gaza Strip. Since the beginning of Israel's bombardment of Gaza on 7 October, an average of one Palestinian child has been killed every 15 minutes.

2.On the other hand, the Israeli military claims that "the world needs to know that this is a war against Hamas, not against the people of Gaza." "As long as Hamas does not release the hostages, there will be only a few hundred tons of explosives from the air force and no humanitarian aid in Gaza," the Israeli minister said. "Israel** claims that all Gazans are guilty, and the Minister of Defense claims that Gazans are all humanoids and wants to turn Gaza into hell. 3.In the aftermath of the Hamas terrorist attacks, the international mainstream supported Israel. However, after Israel's blockade and indiscriminate bombardment of Gaza for many days, its face of genocide in the name of counter-terrorism is very clear, and it has begun to reverse, especially the bombing of hospitals, anti-American sentiment in the Middle East is rising, and the traffic of the local Middle East embassy to the United States is lined up. 4.The latest report from the New York Times on the hospital** case: the hospital said that on the eve of **, the Israeli military asked to evacuate** three times (Israel admitted), and Israel fired two bombs in warning, hitting the fourth floor of the hospital (Israel denied). At present, the backyard of the hospital is still littered with blood-stained blankets, backpacks, and corpse fragments, and the smell of blood is in the air. At least 471 people died, but body fragments are still being collected for identification. In other related cases, the hospital doubles as a shelter, and more than 3,000 refugees slept there that night. The hospital's **scope and extent of damage was much larger than what the Israeli military presented at the press conference. Many cars in the parking lot were blown up, and many people sleeping on grass, concrete, and tents next to them died.

5.According to the New York Times, the US side privately revealed that the preliminary analysis results showed that the hospital case was caused by the fall of a rocket launched by the Islamic Jihad group. The BBC interviewed a group of military experts, two of whom said it was caused by a falling rocket, while others said it was impossible to conclude what caused it. Biden told Netanyahu on a foreign trip: "According to what I've seen, it's the other side of the thousand, not you." The ** experts interviewed by the Economist reporter believe that it is impossible to be an air-burst bomb, on the grounds that the roof of the car is not damaged, but it is clear that the roof of many cars is damaged, and the roof is also damaged. Britain's Channel 4 conducted an independent investigation and exposed the fact that the recordings of the two *** conversations released by the Israeli military were faked (inconsistent accents and tones), as well as other loopholes. Channel 4 also mentioned that the lethality is huge but there is no large crater, which may be an air-burst bomb. 6.After World War II, of the seven Arab League countries at that time, only Transjordan wanted to annex the West Bank, and the other six countries all pledged to help the Palestinian people establish a state, and during the first Middle East war, an all-Palestinian ** composed of Palestinians was formed, and after Egypt occupied the Gaza Strip, it was nominally governed by all-Palestinian ** for ten years. At first, the Arab countries opposed the United Nations partition plan and were unwilling to give half of the land where their ancestors had lived for generations to immigrants to establish a state. According to the two-State solution, to which both Israel and Palestine agree, the Palestinian State consists only of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. But Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip has turned it into a prison, and the West Bank has been encroached upon by immigrants, dividing it into 165 enclaves, making it impossible for Palestine to become a state. The Gaza Strip is internationally recognized as an occupied territory, and Israel, the occupier, has a responsibility for the basic subsistence of the people of the occupied territory. 7.The UN Security Council voted 12 in favour, one against and two abstentions, on a resolution proposed by Brazil to allow humanitarian supplies to enter Gaza, a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The United States vetoed the resolution with one vote,** and the United Kingdom abstained. The reasoning of the United States was that the resolution did not mention Israel's right to self-defence. The United States has obvious tendencies, such as reporting the number of people killed in the bombing of Gaza, which usually does not report how many children are among them, and the New York Times once published a commentary "Hamas, every death in this war is to blame."

8.Alternative scenery: Canadian Prime Minister Nick Stoin said the bombing of hospitals was absolutely unacceptable. Three Democratic House members in the United States have taken the lead in accusing Israel of war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza. "Collective punishment of Palestinians in Gaza is a war crime," Bush said. It's a shame that this is happening with the support and power of the United States. "Josh Paul, director of the U.S. Political and Military Bureau, resigned in anger because he did not agree with the continued lethal aid provided by the United States to Israel. He believes that the United States' blind support for one side of the conflict is short-sighted, destructive, unjust, and contradicts the professed values that Israel has violated human rights by cutting off water, electricity, food and medicine to 2 million residents of the Gaza Strip, and that military aid to Israel should be terminated under US law. The Jewish Voices of America, an American Jewish activist group, organized a rally of thousands of people on Capitol Hill to call for an immediate ceasefire for Israel's genocide against Gaza. Spain's Minister of Social Rights, Iván Bellara, said that economic sanctions need to be imposed on Bibi and all those who commit genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. ......Taken together, my basic conclusion is that while Hamas is abhorrent, Israel's rebellious retaliation and indiscriminate bombing of civilians by treating the Palestinians as a whole is also despicableWestern countries, especially the United States, have tendencies, especially the United States**, which almost unconditionally support Israel. This information is not difficult for me to obtain, but for some people, it may never be available, or although there is an opportunity to obtain it, they choose not to believe it. As for Israel's indiscriminate retaliation, the first example that came to my mind was that Zhang San killed Li Si's family, and Li Si, who had slipped through the net, also killed Zhang San's family. Should we firmly support Li Si?I'm sure many people will have the answer. Li Si's family suffered misfortune and deserved sympathy, but Li Si in turn killed Zhang San's family, men, women and children, but it was also a crime. I sympathize with Li Si's killing of Zhang San, but strongly oppose the killing of others, after all, Zhang San's family is innocent. Later, I saw the example given by the popular science writer, and his example was obviously more appropriate. He said: According to the logic of the wheat field and many Chinese, if there is a **** hiding in the school, the police can blow up the school. If ** blends into the crowd, the police can shoot at the group. If the hostages are hidden in a certain town, the police can block the town, cut off water and electricity, cut off food, and claim to force the hostages to hand over ......That's the difference in levels. Although I have roughly the same point of view as the popular science writer, the examples he gives are more accurate, more vivid, and more typical. The example seems simple, but it is actually a combination of logic and imagination, and it is not easy for ordinary people to do it well. My own approach is to read more articles from people with a higher level than myself, and keep learning and Xi. It's not impossible to rely on yourself to explore slowly, but the efficiency is too low, and sometimes it is even ineffective. I have given an example before: a badminton amateur, constantly Xi from the people around him, constantly summing up experience, this is of course a good way, but the faster way is to go directly to the recognized top professional coach. There will be completely different interpretations of the same fact because of the accumulation of knowledge, minds, and visions. For example, Israel's bombing of schools and hospitals is considered by some to be a war crime, and some believe that these schools and hospitals are deserved because they are used as military facilities by Hamas. When I debated with a friend, he insisted that the schools, hospitals, and churches that were blown up were either blown up by Hamas itself or because there was intelligence to confirm that Hamas fired artillery shells there. He also said with great certainty that the Central Gaza Hospital**, from any point of view, had no incentive for Israel to attack, and that, according to sources he found reliable, he believed that ** was about 100 people, and that no more than 20 people had unfortunately been killed. He did his best to prove to me that Israel has been very careful to reduce the number of civilians as much as possible, and that what is now "incidental" is inevitable. I couldn't help but respond: you are perfectly qualified to be Israel's propaganda minister. This friend was once regarded by me as the most rational and rigorous one of the local alumni groups. If he is still like this, we can imagine the general public's understanding of the Palestinian-Israeli issue. On the territorial issue, a netizen asked Zhang Ping, a professor at Tel Aviv University in Israel: "It is an indisputable fact that before the establishment of the State of Israel, Palestine was the land of the Arabs. It is also true that Israel has usurped the land of the Palestinians by establishing a state. Why can't you see that?Zhang Ping replied: "This is not true. Before the establishment of the state of Israel, the land was British, before it was the Ottoman Empire, before it was the Arab Empire, before it was the Roman Empire, before it was the Persian Empire, before it was the Kingdom of Ancient Israel, before it was Phoenician, before it was ownerless, and before that there were no human beings. Where do you think it's appropriate? When I first saw this answer, it seemed like a decent and difficult thing to refute. Anyway, at my level, I don't know how to refute it. In fact, Zhang Ping's views are accepted by many people in China. Qin Hui, a prominent professor of history at Tsinghua University, has a similar view. Later, when I saw the rebuttal of the popular science writer, it dawned on me. "This is confusing regime change with the ethnic affiliation of the land," the popular science writer said. Britain withdrew from Palestine as a colonizer, and what should be done with that land, whether it should be independent or integrated with the surrounding areas, should be decided by the people who have lived there for generations, which is called the right to national self-determination. At that time, the ethnic group there was predominantly Palestinian, and Jews were few and immigrants. These small groups of immigrants want to build a country out of thin air to attract more immigrants, and the reason is simply that their ancestors founded the country here more than a thousand years ago, and this kind of thing will not be accepted anywhere in China. So many Chinese accept this set of crooked reasoning because they have no empathy. "According to the logic of Zionism, even if the ancestors lived somewhere 1,000 years ago, there is now a reason to establish a state there. According to this logic, the descendants of ancient Rome can establish a state in many countries today, the Mongols can establish a state in most parts of Eurasia, and the descendants of the Goguryeo Kingdom can also establish a state in the northeast of our country. Someone also asked: It is true that it belongs to Israel since ancient times, and it does belong to Palestine according to the right of long-term residence, but the problem is that Israel has land contracts, while Palestine has only people, this is not easy to define!Popular science writer answers: The contract only proves private rights, and cannot be used to prove sovereignty. Many Chinese buy houses and land in the United States, can they also build a country in the United States?Palestine is not a terra nullius, Arabs have lived there for generations. ......Zhang Ping is a university professor in Israel, and it is normal for his views to be tendentious, but Qin Hui, as a professor at the highest university in China, cannot jump out of the wrong cognition, and his judgment on historical issues is not as good as that of a popular science writer, which really makes people doubt the level of domestic professors. Qin Hui used to be an idol scholar in my mind, and I used to admire him so much that I felt that he was the pride of a liberal arts professor at Tsinghua University. Later, with the increase of experience, he was removed from the reading object (related reading: "Why did I remove Qin Hui and Sun Liping from the reading object?"."Why don't I engage in "balanced reading"?This time, someone posted an audio of him on the Palestinian-Israeli issue in a WeChat group or circle of friends, and for more than two hours, I instinctively was vigilant and did not listen to it. Fortunately, I didn't listen, otherwise I would have been misled again. Some time ago, a reader left a message under my article: According to your operation, if you eliminate an author because there has been a mistake, there will be no author in the world who can read it. I think I already talked about this in the article, so I didn't reply to him. Moreover, Qin Hui's mistakes are not just once, but many times, and a university scholar has made many mistakes, which at least shows that there is a problem with his academic attitude. After all, people have limited time and energy, and the older they get, the more they realize the importance of curated reading, and instead of reading a few less reliable authors, it is better to focus on a few authors who have stood the test of time for decades. For example, because I don't understand the Palestinian-Israeli issue at all, I only read about a certain reliable person, but even so, I don't think that my understanding of the Palestinian-Israeli issue is worse than others, at least it is higher than the average level.
