Two hulls of the new solar-electric catamaran Silent 62 from the innovative Austrian shipyard Silent Yachts were launched today, both with a completely new drivetrain.

Founder and CEOmichael köhler"This is our most efficient, quietest, and most high-tech drivetrain to date, allowing for greater range and higher top speeds," he said. ”

This state-of-the-art drivetrain is based on automotive standards while providing owners and guests with the ability to travel the world faster when needed.

This new generation drivetrain will be suitable for all Silent models and features an upgraded battery with higher energy density and greater capacity. Now, thanks to the optimized thermal management of the battery, yachts can enjoy faster charging. Some of the other key features of the new water-cooled battery include extended life, with more than 3,500 charging cycles. The batteries are certified by DNV-GL and Lloyd's Register. IP65 waterproofing, as well as independent monitoring and extinguishing systems, ensure the highest level of safety on board.

The new motor is rated at an efficiency of approximately 96%, providing the highest efficiency over the entire operating range currently available on the market. This is achieved by utilizing the latest synchronous reluctance-assisted permanent magnet (SRPM) technology. The extremely compact and robust construction of the motor, protected by an IP65 housing, offers the highest reliability and sets a new benchmark for efficiency on the market.

The new drivetrain also features a full-carbon propeller shaped like a submarine propeller. This innovative design eliminates vibration and noise, providing unprecedented efficiency and silent cruising on the water.

Carbon propellers. Michael Khler explains: "The carbon propeller ensures ultimate relaxation for owners and guests on the water, while raising the efficiency rating to a level never before seen in yachting. ”Conference room version

One of the two newly launched Silent 62 catamarans has a special layout. Michael K Hler commented: "The owner plans to use it for business. According to the layout of the front main cabin version, the owner decided to redesign it to meet his specific needs. This is the first Silent catamaran that can be set up with multiple meeting rooms. ”

As a result, the master cabin at the front of the main deck of Silent 62 was transformed into a fully equipped meeting room. Instead of a traditional double bed, there is a large table in the center with seating for up to 10 people around it. There is still an ensuite bathroom on the starboard side of the room. Towards the end of the day, the conference table can be lowered and covered with ** cushions so that it can be converted back into a large bed. A cabin located on the starboard side hull has also been converted into a second, smaller conference room. Here, up to six people can collaborate on their projects. The third and largest meeting room is located in the salon.

Pre-export version

Another Silent 62 with the popular 4+1 front exit configuration (4 cabins + 1 crew cabin) was also recently launched.

Former export version. Based in Austria and building solar-powered catamarans in Italy, Thailand and Qingdao, China, Silent-Yachts in 2009 founders Heike and Michael Khler sailed the world for 6,000 days, more than 7After 50,000 miles, after years of testing solar propulsion systems, they launched their first fully self-sufficient, blue-water catamaran, the Solarw**E 46, and conducted 4 years of sea trials before developing the Silent 64, which was launched in 2016 as the first mass-produced catamaran powerboat to use solar energy to cross the Atlantic. This was followed by the Silent 55, Silent 60, Silent 80 and Silent 80 three-deck models. After 5 years of development, the company has become one of the pioneers of solar-electric technology in the yachting industry.
