"Journey to the West" is one of the masterpieces of classical Chinese literature, telling the story of the four Tang monks and apprentices who went through 9981 difficulties and finally obtained the true scriptures.
Among them, Sun Wukong is undoubtedly the most eye-catching character, he cultivated from a Lingming stone monkey to become a Monkey King, and was pressed by the Buddha at the foot of the Five Elements Mountain, and later protected Tang Seng to go west, and finally became a fighting Buddha.
Sun Wukong's life is full of legends and adventures, but there are also some untold secrets.
The birth and growth of Sun Wukong is described in the first episode of "Journey to the West", "Spiritual Root Cultivation and Pregnancy Source Outflow Spiritual Cultivation Dao Sheng".
It turned out that Sun Wukong was transformed by a magical fairy stone, which absorbed the essence of the sun and the moon and formed a stone fetus, and later broke out of the shell, which was Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong showed his powerful supernatural powers as soon as he was born, and he just stared at the sky, and two golden rays of light shot out from his eyes, straight to the heavens.
Sun Wukong later followed a group of monkeys to the Huaguo Mountain Water Curtain Cave and became the Monkey King. He has lived in Huaguo Mountain for more than 300 years and has come into contact with many monkeys and monkeys.
Among them, four monkeys are different, they are the Akajiri horse monkey and the gibbon monkey, who hold the positions of Marshal Marshal Muryu and Shogun Honba respectively.
These four monkeys not only have a long lifespan, but also have a wide range of knowledge, and they have repeatedly advised Sun Wukong, guiding him to find the method of immortality and magic weapons.
After following the advice of the gibbon, Sun Wukong left Huaguo Mountain to find a way to live forever. He successively worshipped Patriarch Su Bodhi and Lao Jun as his teachers, learned spells such as seventy-two changes and somersault clouds, and also obtained artifacts such as the Ruyi Golden Hoop Stick.
Sun Wukong's cultivation made him omnipotent, but it also made him arrogant and forgot his original intention. Because he was dissatisfied with the arrangement of the heavenly court, he made a big fuss in the heavenly palace, and fought with many immortals such as the heavenly soldiers and generals, the queen mother, and the Jade Emperor for thirty-six rounds, and was finally pressed under the Five Elements Mountain by the Buddha with the Five Fingers Mountain, and suffered for five hundred years.
In the process of making trouble in the Heavenly Palace, Sun Wukong also exposed some of his weaknesses. Although he is strong in mana, he also has invincible opponents, such as Erlang God's Roaring Heavenly Dog, Taishang Laojun's Vajra Zhuo, and the Ruyi Golden Hoop Circle of the Buddha.
Although he is smart and witty, he has also been deceived by times, such as being deceived by Guanyin Bodhisattva's golden cicada, Tai Bai Xing's false holy decree, and the Buddha's banana fan.
Although he has a strong heart, there are times when he is weak, such as being driven out of the house by the Bodhi Patriarch, demoted to Bi Ma Wen by the Jade Emperor, and being pressed down by the Buddha at the foot of the mountain.
Sun Wukong suffered for five hundred years at the foot of the Five Elements Mountain, until Guanyin Bodhisattva came and told him that there was an errand to learn scriptures that would allow him to get out of the sea of suffering and be reborn.
Sun Wukong readily agreed, followed Tang Seng, and began the journey of learning scriptures in the west.
In this process, Sun Wukong encountered countless demons and monsters, and he used his mana and wisdom to protect Tang Seng, subdue the monsters, and complete the ninety-nine eighty-one difficulties.
Sun Wukong's protection made him loyal and brave, but it also made him humble and cautious, and he found his original intention. Because he concealed evil and promoted good, he had the merit of refining demons and subduing demons, and he was finally named a fighting Buddha by the Buddha.
In the process of learning scriptures in the west, Sun Wukong also gained some of his friendship. He formed Jinlan friends with Zhu Bajie, Sha Seng, Bailongma, etc., and they supported each other, advanced and retreated together, and completed the task of learning scriptures together.
He established a master-apprentice relationship with Guanyin Bodhisattva, Babu Tianlong, Bodhisattva, etc., and they helped him many times, teaching him to practice and helping him become a Buddha.
He resolved his hatred with the Buddha, the Jade Emperor, Lao Jun, and others, who forgave him for his mistakes, rewarded him with merit, and made him respected.
After Sun Wukong became a fighting Buddha, he calmed down and sat in meditation and figured out some problems that had plagued him for many years. He discovered that he had hidden four spies in the group of monkeys in Huaguo Mountain, and they were the Akajiri horse monkey and the gibbon monkey.
They turned out to be undercover agents sent by Heavenly Court, and their purpose was to monitor Sun Wukong's every move and prevent him from rebelling. The reason why they were able to live a long life was because they had eaten the elixir of the Heavenly Court.
The reason why they were able to have a wide range of knowledge was because they had mastered the secrets of the Heavenly Court. The reason why they were able to give advice to Sun Wukong was because they wanted to lure him astray.
Sun Wukong remembered his past with these four monkeys, and he felt extremely shocked and angry. He didn't understand why they were doing this to him, what kind of mentality they were.
He remembered the advice they had given him, and he found the flaws and traps in it. He remembered the gifts they had given him, and he found poison and hidden weapons in them.
He remembered the compliments they had given him, and he found the sarcasm and ridicule in them. He remembered the advice they had given him, and he found the deception and exploitation in it.
Sun Wukong thought about it, and he decided not to trouble these four monkeys, he felt that they were no longer threatening and meaningful. Instead, he felt a sense of happiness and gratitude, and he felt that they were also the help and cause for him to become a Buddha.
He thought of their existence, which made him cherish and be grateful even more to his ** and senior brother, who were his true relatives and friends.
He thought of their role and made him more aware and aware of his strengths and weaknesses, they were his real mirror and teacher.
He thought of their influences, which made him more aware and correct his mind and behavior, and they were his real tribulations and tests.
Sun Wukong eventually became a fighting Buddha, and he not only obtained the method of immortality, but also received supreme merit and glory.
His Buddhahood is not only the struggle and summary of his life, but also the reward and sublimation of his life. His enlightenment as a Buddha has left us with many revelations and lessons, as well as a lot of hope and encouragement.
